FX-8350 R9 380 4gb Not able to pull 60 fps?

Currently running a fx-8350 8 core processer @ 4ghz with a r9 380 4gb edition and 16gb of ram, I am unable to pull 60 fps, i get about 45 fps on all medium while standing still on a planet.

Ouch, my 8350 at 4.8ghz and 970 SSC hold steady above 90 in 1080p and 60+ in 1440p...

8350's are garbage man , their single core performance sucks. I had Dying Light with that processor and a 290X which was suppose to be the card to have back in the day and it blows chunks for gaming. Especially games that utilize single core performance which that CPU doesn't do well at all in.

I don't know how the guy above me is claiming to have 60+ in 1440p but whatever.

8350 is a solid chip at stock speed and paired with a respectable GPU you should have no issues maintaining 60 FPS as a min, by respectable I mean Nvidia, AMD makes great GPU's but still plagued with driver issues.

As for single core it's decent but let's be honest , why buy an unlocked back edition chip that overclocks like crazy and not overclock ? The performance increase and yes single core is the difference between night and day..

The last part is all you had to say. Thanks. None of the other stuff was relevant to what I just said. Single Core performance does matter for those games that use it. It does still matter.

^^^^ It's actually quiet simple, the game utilizes all 8 core ranging from 30-80+ % at 4.8ghz across all 8 cores, yes this game will gladly use you CPU, next is it will also use everything your GPU has and depending n where I'm at and what's going on my overclock on top of my already factory SSC 970 will push my core click to 1580mhz...

If you noticed lately games are relying on more cores and moving away from being strictly driven by single core, the 8350's will be kicking for some time to come...

Everything runs perfectly on my 8350, this game included, so I'm not sure how they are garbage.

Well like I was pointing towards, prob a driver issue related to the AMD gpu, or the next common mistake with FX CPU's is not running it on a 970 or 990 mobo , I've seen a ton of complaints with this chip being horrible then come to find out they're running n. 78G mobo which will work with a FX chip but at nerfed specs....

Looking at your specs I have very similar specs, however where I think your system is falling flat is the Ram. 4gb is not enough for that build or this game. I would recommened 8gb at minimum for your setup. You will be amazed at how much it changes things! I build PC's for a living and the most common performance issue I see is solved by Ram.

Any 1600mhz and up 4x2 combo will work well. Kingston is a good brand on a budget.

You could already be but I gotta ask. Are you on the experimental branch? If not it is worth a shot as it made a HUGE difference with my system which is similar to yours.

What mobo ? All power saving feature turned off along with turbo ? What are your volts ?

Running at 4.5ghz stable now. 970a-D3P mobo 1.4volts. although cpu speed does not seem to go above 4.05ghz.
