No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky

İstatistiklere Bak:
Minimum Specs incorrect, GPU must support OpenGL 4.5
And you know what? It would've been really, really useful for them to have noticed this BEFORE launch.

It's not about having a toaster for a PC, plenty of recent, decent spec GPU's don't support higher than OpenGL 4.3

The minumum posted specs list two graphics cards that only run OpenGL 4.2

The problem is not the users, or their PCs. The problem is the outright incorrect minimum specs and Hello Games refusal to acknowledge their screw up.

Looking at some of the other posts elsewhere, especially Reddit, where people have been able to run NMS using a SSE 4.1 emulator that was developed for the Oculus Rift, it certainly looks like it is a requirement for NMS. According to Wikipedia, 4.1 support was added to Bulldozer or later architectures for AMD, which were introduced in 2011.

That pretty much leaves us at the mercy of Hello Games, as to whether they want to patch out the 4.1 requirement from NMS. If in their testing of such a patch they find performance is affected, or there is just too much dependency on these new instructions, considering the mathematical complexity of NMS, and all for the 1% of us who can't play, then our only recourse would be a potentially very expensive upgrade.

I, for one, don't want to get a refund. I want to play NMS. If that means upgrading my rig, then so be it. Unfortunately, it won't just be a new CPU to drop in, as my motherboard is socket AM3. It'll mean a new motherboard and processer, and possibly new memory, along with a complete reinstall of Windows 10.

However, this debacle does show that the "Miniumum Requirements" often published for games need some rethinking.
Plus if you look at the lates bug thread update on launch page they say that 2 cores are not supported. Which i3 is a 2 core...

I am running a 550 Ti. I looked up to see if it supported 4.5 and I thought I saw it did, but when I checked I am running 4.4 and the viewer stated that I am at 90% compatiblity minus shader language 4.50. Does that mean I cannot get openGL 4.5 to work? If so that is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥..
I have the exact same issue. I'm running GTX 980

Ok, Everyone needs to calm down. In order to use Open GL 4.5 All you need is GTX 400 or newer. This is almost 3 years old tech. Everyone who is crying about this, please go into your Nvidia control panel. Add NMS.exe and set power from adaptive to performance....then update your drivers.

I don't think that helps AMD users. You can't just update AMD to run 4.5
I have Open GL 6.14.
GTX 960m here, OpenGL 4.5 ofc - but lag as fck
AMD Radeon R9 M265X
i am running a 770 says its 4.5 compaitiable and i downloaded the beta driver but still no fix for me i think my issue is AMD Phenom II X6
Where is everyone finding these beta drivers?
AMD Radeon HD 7550M/7650M is can run openGL 4.5??????

No, that one should be fine. Folks running a R9 280 or something, however, should start looking for a refund.

What about R9 290X?
I got a GTX 660..and one thing says OpenGL 4.4..another says 4.5. Helpful eh?
I have a gtx 680, the steam system info is telling me Im currently using OpenGL 4.5 still doesn't work for me.
