FPS Drop in ship fix
I have found a fix for the framerate drop when you enter ship. I have a Nvidia graphics card. You need to go into Nvidia control panel, manually select your Nvidia card for GPU, max pre-rendered frames to 4, power management to prefer maximum performance, and texture filtering quality to high quality. Runs smooth as silk now.

Can you give me a step by step on where to go to do this. I'm not used to messing around in my settings like this.

Did you apply this specifically to No Mans Sky, or globally?
Also, what are your in game graphical settings? Do you recommend vsync enabled, fullscreen, etc?

It fixed it for me, but after a while I was having lag again when entering ship... will test again later.

Followed all this, and despite having more than enough capability to run this, I still get a major fps drop in the ship to the point where I cannot fly it. On the ground I run smooth at 60fps with high settings, but in my ship I am getting about 5-10fps at low settings

Didn't have any effect whatsoever on my ship lag.

Didn`t help

It also only worked temporaily for me. Worked when I immediately tested it and when I went back later after exploring for a bit it didn't work anymore.

Just wanted to report the only method I got to work was optimizing the game using the geforce experience and then altering the in game resolution and quality. My ship is now working perfectly fine.

I have no clue why this worked for me but it did. Just fyi.

Just tried what Oni suggested and changed the resolution back to 1080p and textures from medium to high.
Had to turn textures back to medium, and is working again, no lag in the ship... for now...

I know, it's been working for hours for me now. I have NO clue why it works since it doesn't seem to change the settings that much.

It sort-of works for me. Game runs really smooth for around an hour, then cripples itself until I restart. Then it's fine again for another hour.
Paradoxical Aug 12, 2016 @ 8:24pm
Yeah every 2 hours I seem to have to restart, memory leak maybe. I'm not sure.

I played for a more than two hours yesterday with no problems at all... For me it seems the problem was that I was turning textures to high instead of medium. It runs smoothly now.

I ran into another problem that doesnt have to do with this tho. got stuck in a space station, needed thamium, but no one sells it apparently, and was forced to start over.... :/
