NMS - Crashed Freighter - The first Traveler

I looked for a little while on the threads concerning this problem, but nobody seems to have found a work-around to my knowledge. The problem arose when i made contact with the crashed freighter. a few things i noticed were weird are: the visor scanner did not pick up the storage containers in any of the viewing options. however, since this was not my first crashed freighter dig, i know where the spawns are located, so when i went to dig them up and feed them their necessary material to open up, i ended up getting different materials than what i should have gotten. if i understand the mission correctly, i should have gotten log encryption keys from inside the storage containers-of which i can use to decrypt the log and continue with the story. as of now i'm just spinning my wheels and would really appreciate any help from the community or the game tech support.
