You are not actually looking at any "large objects" in games ... you are looking at an computer monitor displaying small 2D representations of 3D worlds, made 3D through your brains ability to decode the 2D geometric images with help using tricks of Parallax movement.
Your monitor is VERY small compared to most any object in the real world. So in reality all the objects you see on screen are very, very small.
So... simply imagine you are looking through a window into another reality where everything is very, very small.
Problem solved :)
yes, it is, but just compared to my character and the game world, the same sandworm is very huge and it's hard for my brain to change the perspective of the real world, because when I play, I immerse myself in the game world. It's very difficult with my phobia, even watching movies, let's say Godzilla :D
In any case, you need to figure out how to conquer your irrational fear, not ask the world to quit spinning. Talk to a health professional. There are likely strategies that will help you learn to handle it better until it just disappears.
Honestly, the worm encounters are pretty rare and so brief I have never gotten a photo of one...except the tail disappearing in the earth. It is like 15 seconds...just look down when you see the screen start shaking and count to 15.
if it comes to irrational fears you can not work around it. the fear will just happen despite you know that it is not rational and shouldn't happen.
professional help is recommended because some people need to face the fear to fight it and some people will kill themselves because you say you have to face it.
so do NOT make jokes about phobias - they're NEVER funny - never
(just saying this because i've seen some bullying about that [not here, because it seems NMS players are more calm])
because of the sandworm
with a mod the sandworms can be removed from the game
thanks to Gumsk

install it, enjoy the game
already installed, thanks!
Oh cool, a work-a-round mod, glad to hear.
Funny thing to mention, two creature things they've added i still haven't encountered... Sand Worms and from an update even longer ago, "Pop-up_Rock Crabs".
I must have pistol whipped a thousand random rocks, trying to get one to spring up on some spidery/crab legs to watch a rock skitter around but, nothing...
Oh well, i like the idea of having some random and apparently VERY rare pop-up scare :)
