Short Range Teleporter error "Too close to starship"

I loaded up NMS for the first time in over a year and my base short-range teleporter had stopped working. I then discovered I need to add "teleport wiring". So I tried doing that, but when I try to attach it to the second node, it turns red and says "Too close to starship". What does this mean? My ship landing pad isn't at all close (at least 100 ft away).

Looks like the distance to starship is only measured horizontally, even if there is a large vertical distance. I had to move the second node because it was probably only about 20 feet horizontally from my landing pad, even though it was almost 100m below it.

LOL, still broken, my ship was like 40 units away of my cable but the game still didn't like it
