Game will not launch, anyone?
Hi all, after having the game working fine after the update, I suddenly could no longer get NMS to launch the following day.
I've updated my drivers, verified game cache, reinstalled several times, tried running without my saves but always the same now: steam will indicate the game is running and syncing for a few seconds after launching and then it just stops.
Would really appreciate input if anyone has an idea or is encountering similar issues (and I'm a longtime NMS enthusiast so plz I miss this game haha)

Edit:
Ok so I found what was causing it on my system at least and got the game working fine so this might work for you guys if you haven't tried this already!

-Find your game executable in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries
-Right click properties on the launch file, then compatibility, and click and tick "run this program as administrator".

-It turned out that my firewall was still blocking the game even though it wasn't listed on my blocked files, so this procedure sorted it out.

Note: Before trying this fix I reinstalled the game, then verified game cache, then did a restart before anything else.

I did what you did to fix the issue so I can play the game but from what my computer says that the files VCRUNTIME 140.dll and MSCP 140.dll was not found, which is causing the game to be no longer compatible with my computer... I did everything I could think of to fix it but nothing is working just cuz those two files are some how missing and even my G-force exp In-game overlay is not working.
I have the same problem. No mans Sky doesn't start for me either. Via start Admin he says that the same files are missing from me as from you.
Reinstallation didn't bring anything. Everything was fine yesterday.
I had a similar issue. Worked perfectly (well, almost) for over 700 hours of play. I didn't load it for a month or two, but when I did, --- Steam dumped a multi-gigabit update into my system and it hasn't been able to load since. Traced it to a memory write to a non-existent location... I think that the last few updates in the 2.7??? series caused the problem. Absolutely NO help or even a suggestion from Hellllooooooooo - nice to know they have such *great* support. If there's any thoughts, I'm open for suggestion... :-) System is Alienware i7-7700 win10 with 16Gb & GTX1060/6Gb
hi it may just be your anti virus i use f secure and all i do is turn off deep scan and make sure it lets that game run..:steamhappy:

I'm beginning to think that the last updates are consuming more memory - not just NMS, but everything... I increased my virtual to about 20G and that seemed to resolve the immediate issues. Next is to go from 16G RAM to 64G - that should last me at least a month or so... :-)
i upgraded my memory using corsaire purchased in black friday sale amazion works great also downloaded the iq softwere to control the colours....
I am having trouble opening No mans sky. In the log file appears this Error:

Vulkan Loader Message : loader_create_device_chain: Failed to find 'vkGetInstanceProcAddr' in layer C:\Program Files (x86)\Overwolf\0.190.0.13.\ow-graphics-vulkan.dll. Skipping layer.

Does anyone know a solution.

Uninstall Overwolf .. maybe you need to install your GPU driver after that again
I haven't been able to play since the last update
My screen just stays white and No Man's Sky doesn't respond anymore.
If I try to open now I get this error:

The game has encountered an error and will shut down. Please refer to https://hellogames.zendesk.com/ for help if the issue persists and include this tolken as reference:

Does anyone know how to fix that?
