Game will not launch, anyone?

Hi all, after having the game working fine after the update, I suddenly could no longer get NMS to launch the following day.
I've updated my drivers, verified game cache, reinstalled several times, tried running without my saves but always the same now: steam will indicate the game is running and syncing for a few seconds after launching and then it just stops.
Would really appreciate input if anyone has an idea or is encountering similar issues (and I'm a longtime NMS enthusiast so plz I miss this game haha)

Ok so I found what was causing it on my system at least and got the game working fine so this might work for you guys if you haven't tried this already!

-Find your game executable in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\steamapps\common\No Man's Sky\Binaries
-Right click properties on the launch file, then compatibility, and click and tick "run this program as administrator".

-It turned out that my firewall was still blocking the game even though it wasn't listed on my blocked files, so this procedure sorted it out.

Note: Before trying this fix I reinstalled the game, then verified game cache, then did a restart before anything else.

Same problem. I just bought the game. Installed it. Launching the game and... nothing.

I was starting to think I was the only one, though I saw a german post with a similar problem. This doesn't seem to be a common bug though.

Hi I just downloaded this game, and the game launches, black screen, then crashes immediately. Are there any ideas on how to fix this?

My windows is up to date, gpu driver is up to date, fresh game installation. Dunno what else I could do to make it work. Maybe a refund... XD

OK I fixed my problem. I ran NMS.EXE as administrator. If firewall pops up, grant acces. Hope it helps.

Same problem here, says running for maybe 4 seconds, then nothing. Kinda bummed, i really wanted to play this game.

Yes i have the same no launching issue and the only working work around is running it as admin.
I dont know what caused this.

Have you run the troubleshooter. Run this and set it to windows 8 and admin which is how i fixed mines to playable.

I get a "Unable to intiialize OpenGL window" popup. this was after opening the game and switching it from bordered window mode to fullscreen.

Having same issue. Game used to work just fine. Now, won't load. No error or anything, don't even get a load screen

Same here. Just bought and fresh installation. Tried running, kicked out after a sec of black screen.
