Game not Running due to update on the pile ! SSE issue maybe ?

As the title states . I can get it to start but once i select a new game it crashes after a few mins of black screen with no ERROR notice or code or anything .

Is this due to maybe getting rid of SSE support on older CPUs with the new Vulken build ? The game worked fine before for me and had no real issues . Sure it lagged on and off on mid with a few things set to high @ 1080p. But it was playable as you can see from my hours in game .

Reason i was thinking this is a SSE issue was most games that don't support older CPUs the game will start and look to work fine but once you launch the game it will crash to desktop without any ERROR notice. Being i have a AMD Phenom which doesn't support SSE4.1. So games like Apex Legends , Little Nightmares , Far Cry 5 and up and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are un-playable .

And yes i know i need a new CPU or PC being i know someone will say this .....

Same. GTX1060 + Phenom 2 x4. But some people reported same problem in russian community with new processors, also it launches main menu successfully and crashes after several seconds of black screen, which is kinda strange. If it was for wrong instructions it wouldnt launch at all, would it?
So far updated video driver, opengl, visual c/c++ redist, etc. Still doesnt work

Do you think it could be that they activated the AVX extension on the CPU and the older CPU can not run that causing the game to now crash???

Ok kool ! Most that i seen didn't say what Processor they were running just Memory and GPU they were running. Yeah i did all the same i deleted The game and all subfolders and deleted Vulken and updated it and all other drivers are up to date. I did read the crash log is added in the folder %temp% so i might send in that to Hello Games like others are doing.

But no if the SSE is not supported for some reason the game will launch but once it gets past the load screen it will go black or just crash without warning . I download Apex Legends when it came out and all worked , i could pick my character and even edit my settings but once it would go to load it would just crash. Same for the other games i listed , being i think the SSE instructions don't apply to load screens but only when the game is being loaded .

@ Lord Pally that might be a issue also . Just hope they can patch this and let us know what is the issue.

Yeah. Phenom II x4 user here. Broken for me, too. Same issue. Game crashes when trying to load into the game. I've gone through every potential fix, but it seems like they just broke support for older cards entirely.

Yeah that's why i posted this being it looks like the update doesn't support older CPUs at all . Just from what most are posting about what CPU they are using. We know there is patches and fixes they can add to allow it being other games in the past have patched their games with a older and supported instruction set for older CPUs. The issue is most DEVs now pass on it and will not fix or update it.

There Logic is that more users have newer CPUs that out weigh the ones using older out of date CPUs . Even though our old CPUs matched with 16 gigs or more of ram and a Good GFX card can run the game fine and with no issues.

They just updated the experimental branch "Fix crash for older chipsets without SSE support." Will test and report

Well it works but looks like one issue ! The VR mode is taking over and cant remap keys lol

If you go to the note sticky it will tell how to get into that build. ill post it in a sec , there is a code you need to use to add that build
