I have a gaming laptop too, ASUS ROG, i7, 980m, 4GB VRAM, 8GB RAM.
Not sure really... was this happening before the update or?
For me the best solution was to turn vsync off, set fps to max, and activate adaptive vsync in Nvidia Control Panel.
Specs:
4790k
GTX 980
16GB RAM
Windows 10
It got solved like this:
Go to Graphics, set all to High (or Ultra, or your preferred setting)
Save and restart the game
Go to Graphics, set all to Low
Save and restart the game
Go to Graphics, set all to High (or Ultra, or your preferred setting)
Save and restart the game
Play.
... Should play better now. It was something connected to loading specific shaders or something. After the update I notice the game now preloads them, but not sure. It added 20 frames to my framerate then, and from 30-40 fps I was then getting 60+.
