Foundation update BROKE! Game Doesn't Launch

Updated to the Foundation version and now I cannot launch the game at all. No warnings, errors or crashes just nothing when I launch it. Verified files in Steam and still the same.

Nice to see their QA hasn't changed!

With me everything is fine until I get to the mode selection screen. once I pick an option, it doesn't matter which option whether I load my save or pick one of the other modes, the game just crashes to desktop without any message.

Found this in another post. and it worked for me at least. I'm not sure what is or isn't missing though, but the game loaded, took forever loading shaders but eventually got me to my ship. so far so good.

Solution Found:
Even in "Verfied" install of the game the following files might remain.
A tip on the GOG forum was to delete the entire PCBanks Folder and re-verify. Comparing the pre-post of that action shows that the below files were not re-added. Without these files the game starts correctly.

Dude this thread is for the game not launching AT ALL! Not that you can get in part way and then it crashes. I'd be partly happy if I could progress passed the "I haven't got a bloody licence" screen. :(

Same thing here, tried to repair VC++ 2010 and 2013, nothing.

Turning off cloud saving worked for me.

This will shut steam down completely, rerun it, then re-enter your login credentials, then run NMS.

Fixed it for me, hopefully it works for everyone else.

I just uninstalled the game, uninstalled all MS redist C++ (i had so many) , backed up my profile and deleted the %appdata%hello games profile, rebooted, redownloaded the game, tried to run it, same thing.

Attempted to run the MS installer for C++ x64 for both 2013 and 2010, tried still nothing. I did notice in the binary folder there is no steam_appid.txt or w/e that file is called after reinstalling.

I am currently downloading a torrent because I own 3 copies of this game and I am going to play it.

I've just installed the GOG version of the game also have the same issue with this. So it seems it is not a Steam + NMS issue. So the problem is not related to any licensing...

Ow and BTW big thumbs up for Hello Games with this update. I always knew you guys wouldn't bail on this game after release. I hope too see much and much more updates in the future!
