Foundation update BROKE! Game Doesn't Launch
Updated to the Foundation version and now I cannot launch the game at all. No warnings, errors or crashes just nothing when I launch it. Verified files in Steam and still the same.

Nice to see their QA hasn't changed! :steamsalty:

changed the monitor from default to generic pnp monitor from device manager by updating the monitor driver , and it worked
Well you are right. It's not TeamViewer's fault actually. Uninstalling TeamViewer causes your default monitor to use Generic PNP drivers and allowing game to run. I just uninstalled TeamViewer and ran driver update on my monitor, it defaulted to something like PnP-Monitor (Standard) and now the game is not running without TeamViewer installed.

Very weird bug.

SOLUTION;
- Device Manager > Monitors > <Your Generic Monitor>
- Right Click, Select Uninstall, Check the checkbox
- Right Click on somewhere, Scan Hardware Changes

It'll install "Generic PNP Monitor" driver, which will fix your issue. No need to uninstall anything.

i can confirm! game launches straight away!

Same here, ultimately it was uninstalling Teamviewer that did it for me. Very bizarre.

I wouldnt call it bizarre, it is simply an minor error made by HelloGames detecting on which screen the game should be projected. Instead of detecting the IDs of the moniters they want for the names. It is an easy fix :)

Sounds amazingly easy to fix, that being said, I lost the game. The tweak is inaccessible on my computer. It's, really sad... have you ever heard of another game where you needed to play in your device manager?

Since every other game all the way to BF1 are running perfectly, I have a bit of hope still that they make it like before.. for those who lost it with the patch.

Really, I must the the only Bootcamp user on this thread.

Cheers

Went to the NMS steam dir and put the NMS to lunch in admin mode. That did the job for me. The game flickers and i had to turn SLI off on my GT80 Titan Notebook

I don't know man, I tried even further steps reinstalling from scratch, again, deleting every single trace fo the game, save files and all. Nothing. It's really mind blowing! Nada

Another thing that is mind-blowing after fixing this issue are the fps drops even when the PC is way above the recommended requirements. BS.

I fixed this issue by uninstalling the latest AMD drivers, and installing version 16.10.1 (Oct 13 2016). After reboot, NMS started normally.

I noticed under \Binaries\SETTINGS\TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML after i installed the older driver, the config setting for <Property name="MonitorNames"> now has a value, where before it had none.

I linked your fix to reddit. Hope that's ok?

Of course! Glad I was able to help some people out.

It is now 4:00 pm EST on Tuesday, Nov. 29th, and I still can't get the updated game to launch on my WIndows 10 PC. Has anyone else succeeded?

Many succeeded but I'm among the ones that didn't. I spent a big part of the day uninstalling drivers, reinstalling them, deleting the game, reinstalling it... etc.

When you have that many games and they all boot without any issue, well, something went wrong somewhere. I understand that some people play in the device manager, uninstall TeamViewer and stuff, but that doesn't do it for some of us.

Launching fail, even after scratch install, that's not normal.

Finally figured out why the game would not launch and fixed it.

Problem: I would hit Play on steam and it said Running, then Sync, then crash. No loading screen, no nothing.

Solution:
Go to Device Manager, look under Monitors. Confirm that the monitor(s) listed has the same name as your monitor(s) model(s).

In my case it said Splashtop Generic Monitor, which is Splashtop Streamer, a software that lets me use my iPad as a monitor.

I uninstalled that software, and the game launch no problem.

Team Viewer also changes the name of your monitors. Uninstall Team Viewer and it should work.

If the monitos listed says Generic PnP Monitor, you may need to install the monitors drivers - tho one of my monitors currently listed says Generic PnP Monitor and the game is running fine.

Hopefully this works for you too!

I NEED teamveiwer - BUT, if you go to Teamviewers options>Advanced>Network Settings you can uninstall the teamviewer monitor drivers and then NMS will load!
Everyone having this problem should grab an HDMI cable and their nearest TV and try playing that way... have the same problem, found this out on accident, I hope it works for a lot of you as well. It doesnt fix it, tried running without the HDMI cord, but at least you can play and with two screens now so...

I tried that also with external TV via HDMI. Same nothing, shows game running then nothing.
