Scrolling horizontal lines glitch is an HBAO problem

Sharing what I know in case others are searching on this.

I've talked to several that have experienced this, most with Nvidia but one with AMD. I am talking about vertically scrolling, somehat faint horizontal lines in ground texture rendering when HBAO is on in some configurations. I had an i7-6700K w/ GTX 1080 and had no issue at 1920x1080. I then swapped in a 2560x1440 screen and the lines appeared. I turned HBAO off and - boom - lines are gone. So I am running without HBAO, until next release when I am guessing and hoping this issue is fixed.

I've talked to several who expereince this going to 1440 res on Nvidia, but one fellow had an AMD that was doing it even at 1080. So, not sure what's going on there. But it's an HBAO issue.

I replaced my GTX 1080 with a GTX 1080 Ti, mainly hoping to fix a different issue I am seeing in the game, but I won't get into that here. Same HBAO lines on this card at 1440.

Same Problem here! I´m running NMS on i5 4670 with R9 390. Have change driver, and search for solutions, but found absolutely nothin. Different graphic settings don´t help. Only turning off hbao deletes the creepy lines.

I know this is an old post but i have this problem now and am hoping it will be fixed.

Also find it funny that you said the "next release" before atlas rises :).

This problem had gone for me but now with the new update it's back and its very annoying.
Hope we find a fix soon.

I even gave to switch it off and on in Space I get artifacts without. And on planet when it is on. :-(
