Help! Exocraft Scanner does nothing

I'm trying to do the expedition phase 3 quest 'Safari' where you have to scan creatures from the exocraft. I installed the cyclops scope and I can use the scanner but pressing RT to scan things does literally nothing. I've tried to scan flora, minerals and creatures and nothing works, even though it works perfectly on foot. Have I missed any steps or anything to get this thing to work? Playing on Asus Rog Ally if it matters.

ETA: I just realised the mining laser and flamethrower don't work on the exocraft either, which are both activated by pressing RT as well.

I finished that step with my regular multitool scanner. I think it is a typo that you need to use the exocraft scanner. I finished that step in the first 5 minutes of the expedition just scanning fauna around the spawn point before I built the exocraft..

Didn't work for me though :/ I immediately scanned most of the fauna when I started the expedition and none of it counted. I think something is wrong with the exocraft in general because I can't use the mining laser either.

You don't have to use the exocraft scanner. You can do it on foot (it's easier, too). Just scan everything, and once you've scanned all the animals, go into the fauna tab, collect your reward for scanning them all, and then you have to upload your discoveries (the little arrow icon on the left side). A lot of people have been worried that they scanned everything down first thing (like I did, 'cause that's the smart thing to do!). But it's fine. You just have to upload the fauna discoveries you have to get the milestone.

The F keybind suddenly doesn't work at all in the game, nor on the exocraft or on foot. Idk what happened

RT? Scanning for me is F + left mouse. Cool thing about the cyclops scanner is you get 3PV perspective from well above the exocraft, so you can see and scan things obscured by hillocks etc in the walking view.

Had the same issue using ROG Ally. I solve it by connecting the device with mouse and keyboard just to complete the mission
