Abandoned mode Black Holes, Atlas Stations and core jumping
Started an abandoned mode save and almost immediately found two graves and a portal so I wanted to try a core jump. I ported to near core and tried to path to a gateway system, but every one ended in either an unselectable star or one saying Atlantid drive required. Then the Titan Exp started, I ran it from that save and brought back the drive, but I was still never able to get to a system where I could actually select the core -- when I followed the path to what looked like the last star, next time I went to galaxy map the core path was pointing back away and fading off.

After that I decided to investigate a couple of other things, went back to spawn system and started following core path one system at a time, looking for a black hole or Atlas station. In about 200 warps I haven't seen either.

Has anyone managed to jump out of Euclid in abandoned mode, or encountered an Atlas Station? If you found a station, did it start the Atlas path mission? What about a black hole? I can imagine for some reason Atlas stations being removed from abandoned mode, but not black holes.

I met a black hole in an abandoned mode. Worked as usual.
Atlas station has not yet met.
Perhaps, to jump into the galactic core, you need a hyperdrive for several thousand light years, but I can be wrong.

While I appreciate the devs addition of abandoned mode. It seems rather rushed and not fleshed out as well as it might be. I don't believe it was extensively play tested. By that, I refer to oversights like this, as well as others. My goal is to get to the center in permadeath abandoned mode and jump to another galaxy. I hope I am not disappointed.

Good luck in your journey!
I think I'm going to wait for some more developments before I go back to my abandoned save. I'd like see a way to unlock purple stars (all mission content locked behind NPC interaction, really), and ideally to scrap starships and obtain a freighter. Until some more updates I'm back on my PD save.

Seems like large parts of the main mission could still make sense in abandoned mode. Artemis was already dead the whole time, Apollo is in a different universe, who knows where -null- is. So except for a very first playthrough where all this isn't known yet, and the parts where you have to prove yourself to the 3 races, the objectives of the main mission could still work. Arguably the Autophage could even be accessible, since they are the spirits of Korvax killed during the destruction of Korvax Prime, and have reassembled bodies for themselves. They could still be present in a universe where all sentient life had been destroyed. For that matter, except for all the space stations being wrecked and no former pirate stations existing, the abandoned mode universe could just be the one from lore where the Sentinels destroyed all life.

Good luck out there!

Right now this mode is broken Players want no other living npcs why not add crucial ones to a data pad. Or remove all quests and unlocks. The main quest is boring broke hard to follow with all there new filler crap they added and should never be repeated or optional like free build,
I've complete all the base computer bits, which just sent me back and forth between 3 systems, So I struck out into the Galaxy to look for a decent Sentinel ship, after a few jumps, i was contacted by a nonexistent settlement.
Was stuck for things to do.
But as all the systems are abandoned, I have collected the Wraith and now jump around to collect upgrades for the Wraith, As Anomalous encounters are not NPCs, they Are still out there.

I have encounter a few anomalies. I couldn't figure out what if anything, any of them had to offer. Not for lacking of trying, mind you.

If abandoned mode is just for exploring empty galaxies, what's the rush to get to the core or to hop?

That's how I fell but adding a new system type along with new play mode. Then locking us out of it is a big f up by HG. I have the wraith from the expedition with purple drive but back in abandon mode Can not see purple systems and understand why but thank it will be fixed has to be.

Well I was able to make it to the core (with no black holes), and have jumped to the Hilbert Galaxy in Permadeath abandoned mode. Not sure what other goals, if any, i will attempt with this save. Seems as though I've done all I can in Abandoned mode... for now.

In Abandoned mode you can never visit purple systems..Because you need to finish several quests where are NPC are involved...

Ending up in a gateway where Atlantid drive is required .. happens not only in Abandoned Mode ... all you need to do find another gateway (maybe 1000ly away ) until you find one where you either need an Cadmium, Emeril or Indium driver or even no special drives .. like systems with spectral class F+G

If you have the Atlantid drive installed you get access to all the red/green/blue stars anyway.

I have one on my ship on an abandoned save via the last expedition. I don't think it'll help.

And as others have reported, black holes are there, I may even have found an Atlas station though I'm not as sure on that.
Also, you can currently get to three other galaxies. Just visited all three to check.

Also abandoned. On my list, drop a base in each galaxy, just in case.

I also installed the atlantid drive from the expedition, thinking I might find purple systems. I can confirm, it doesn't locate the purple systems. :(

I did find a cool Sentinal Ship on this save. I call it "The Ironman". Address in the image. Two class "A" locations: +35.88, +112.66 / -67.61, +136.06 Enjoy!
