Purple systems client sided ?

Friend wanted to pickup a sentinel ship i found in a purple system.
He joined me through main menu via the Join friends.
The game spawned him in a nearby system not in the one i was in. When he opened the galaxy map and sent me a screenshot his purple systems didnt match with my and my player icon was in the middle of nowhere on his screen in a system he cant see.
Workaround was to warp to a nonpurple system and use freighter warp to get him to my purple system.

*edit> Both me and my friend have completed the quest and unlocked purple systems. We are both playing on normal save.

This is odd. Purple systems should be universal, more testing is needed.

This is my purple system base in Euclid. It is the system that was my destination for "In Stellar Multitudes". Someone who has access to purple systems see if you can portal to this system.

There's not enough information in the OP.
There are now 3 universes/instances:
Normal, Permadeath, Abandoned (admittedly at the moment, there doesn't seem to be any way for Abandoned characters to get access to Purple systems, but that doesn't mean their instance doesn't include them).
Were both player/characters in the same universe?

Did both players have access to Purple systems (either through In Stellar Multitudes or a new Exp 17 save)?

I have plans to do some MP testing of Purple access this week (I have 2* PCs/Steam NMS Accounts) to see what happens when an account with no Purple access tries to visit one with access etc.

*OK, OK, I actually have about 20 PCs, but only 2 or 3 that work well with NMS.

Difficulty setting shouldn't matter. System addresses should be the same.

What I infere from OPs post is both players have completed "In Stellar Multitudes", but are seeing different purple systems. My inferance might be wrong.

I have already tried to portal to that system with my second save that has not completed "In Stellar Multitudes" and was sent to a near my normal system. You can not Portal to purple if you have not completed the mission.

What I didn't do was check the galaxy map on my second save to see if purple systems are visible.

I did note the system index for my purple system (glyph 2, 3 and 4) is 1500-something. Normal systems are from 1 to ~650.

I know that using the mod 'it's full of stars', which unlocks all hidden/phantom star systems, still does not allow you to see purples if you haven't completed the quest.

But once completed it does show more purples than without the mod...
