And if you just want to see the new planet types, then go do the Titan expo...
The issue is that the purple systems are the only systems they applied the new planet generation to.
Just give us the new generation upgrade universe-wide, no problems.
If you say that you'd lose your base if they did that, then I hope you won't be playing Light No Fire.
You'd lose your base.
Yes, the new planet types are locked to purple systems, but I'm pretty sure the new terrain generation applied to all unexplored systems (that or I've just been getting very lucky with more interesting landscapes than usual in my new save)
You won't be seeing any of the new ocean-sized oceans outside of purple systems, for example.
They gated entire star systems and planet types behind a questline?
A repetitive questline with fetch quests no less?
OP is right, that is bad. I won't bother returning either, then.
Ocean planets are some of my favourite biomes, I really want to explore them but being forced to grind through a boring questline is just not my jam. I dont have that much time in a week and I want the time I spend to be fun. Repetitive questing is not fun.
This is probably my biggest beef with NMS to begin with, it doesnt seem to have anything to do that isnt repetitive and boring except building, which requires mat grinding anyway.
Where are the complaints about the QS trader selling base parts/decorations? That's actually relevant to building...
I 've been back to the game recently and haven't visited any of the new system with gas planets and such yet, even tho I'm at the end of all previous storylines already since monthes...
I've already fished a couple fishes and remade some of my old bases tho !
Most people I know who play don't play a single save, they have different saves for different types of play, many of which they don't do the full quest line again because it's too long, repetitive, boring and just ... not engaging enough to spend the 20-30 hours to do it on every save.
Previously there was a small amount of content that was unavailable. Now players are being told "There are entire systems you will never reach unless you dedicate all your play time to a single save." Which is telling people with multiple saves "Either dedicate days or weeks of effort to all those saves, or abandon the concept of any new content.
When being blocked like this, players will look for other things to engage their time.
It is possible that this is Hello Games trying to lower the engagement for No Man's Sky to increase the engagement for Light No Fire; but I suspect it is just them not caring.
Whinging about is just making you look self entitled and needy.
its called save editor..get anything you want any time you want and as much of it as you want.
