Wraith, How does it rank?
So, I have just unlocked the Wraith and it's awesome. But I'm not experienced enough in the game to understand how good actually is.

Anybody care to compare it to a Sentinel Ship loaded with Infra Knife?

How do I transfer the ship?

When you finish the expedition (not ended), you are given the reward of the wraith ship.
Now go to your main save and create a copy of it, then go to your freighter and look in the fleet management console, you can transfer the wraith ship to the ship storage thingy, once you do that, you can go and create another copy if you like. I copied it 3 times this way, so i know i got plenty of tech to swap around how i like.

I love the style of the new Wraith ship... I just wish it didn't have tape worms hangin' out its butt :\

i agree with this. living ship is a hit or miss; for me its a miss. Edit: the 1st person view is awesome for living ships, very clean. Like it.

This guy does some serious in-depth videos on NMS. This Is NOT me.

hope this doesn't break any rules.

That's weird, I redeemed mine on a different save file and as far as I remember it came with all the modules. I know because I had three spare psychonic egg sitting in storage because I never had a living ship in that safe file before
people say the wraith is bad but i feel like they don't read.

It is freaking invulnerable. The grafted eyes weapon repairs the ships shield, pretty much instantly to full, upon hitting any enemy. They also mine asteroids nearly instantly.

Also i don't know what yall are talking about, the redeemed ship is not 'bare', it comes with the same stuff no matter where you redeem it. It's also not given as a free reward, at the end of the expedition; we have to redeem it for 1600 nanites. Each copy would be 1600 nanites. I'm also not sure what you can achieve by buying more copies of it as each system it has is maxed out afaik.

Upgrading living ships is relatively easy - there is a reddit post about a particular system you can find 5 upgrades in like 5 mins. Land/Save/Restore and rerun and get 5 more. You upgrade the parts with nanites and before you know it your living ship is setup.

Thats just a reskin of a phase beam.

Yeah, I don't think living ships have ANY weapons aside from grafted eyes and spewing vents.

Great tip. I did that, and then because I'm a greedy bastard, I redeemed a new one hoping to end up with 2. The upgraded one got removed and now I have one that is bare.

Serves me well for being so greedy.
You could have just reloaded your restore point save (assuming you didn't make a new one after claiming the new ship)
You have to adjust your thinking about how to fight battles if you decide to make any Living Ship your daily driver.

With a Living ship, try to emphasize upgrades to your Scream Suppressor and your Grafted Eyes. The Plasma Vents are more of a "finishing" weapon, like the Rocket Launcher.

The Grafted Eye is so-o much better than the Phase Beam at doing the Shield sucking thing, that it is almost like it is something entirely different.

Make your Grafted Eye your main dogfight weapon, and always turn INTO your current/principal opponent. Your Scream Suppressor (Shield) will stay topped up all the time if you are aggressive. You'll feel like you don't have just a Shield...you've got Captain America's vibranium Shield.

My experience is that is takes about 3 pirates / Sentinels accidentally becoming remarkably coordinated for several passes to put any significant hurt on your ship.

Even though the maneuverability of a Living Ship is just barely better than the large-sized Haulers.

I DO wish they could hover, however. Maybe we could get some Living Frigate brainiac exploration/discovery type to whisper in their ?ear? and the Ships could work on learning how to do that.
Forget sentinel.... only advantage is that it can hover, won't do you any good in space dogfights...
craft yourself a custom fighter using your favorite parts and make sure it has that kind of supercharged slot layout:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3243484490
1 for the engine (speed and maneuveurability boost), 3 for the infra-knife.
it has the best damage bonus and only use common materials for repairs and upgrades.
Even with only 3 sc slots (using illegal modules) for the IK, it melt dreadnaughts in seconds.
And the engine boost makes dogfighting starships way easier.
Oh... and add a rocket launcher and a photon gun as secondary weapons too....

Phase beam (and bio counter part) are almost useless against unshielded target.... just make a shortcut for the shield recharge quick menu, it's instant and doesn't require you to hit something that as a shield up to work....
I'd say it's the ONLY way to get A living Ship!

I made one A few Days before the Expedition dropped, luckily for me about 3 months ago someone dropped 60+Sacs in my inventory at the Anomaly, at the time I had no idea what they were for & just kept them around.

Then 6 days before the Expo I made A ship, took it with me into the Expo & will be doing so for every Expo to come.

The Wraith is A slightly better version of A regular Living Ship, an Exotic is still better statwise & MUCH easier to get needed mods for like Teleporter beam & different weapons, X mods & so forth.

But the Wraith is neat, Like the Expedition it's A shortcut to something that will take A good amount of time & effort to experience in traipsing through the regular Game.

Myself, I think it has too much going on, too busy, like the Starborne Runner, it's just too flashy & looks kinda like A Sock the Dog chewed up for A few months & some 10 year old kid used it with A Marble & some Ribbons from the Dollar Store to make an emergency art project & ended up with A C-.

But some folks dig flying what looks like A Coelacanth with Jets, in the end worth it to get & have, but unless you dig the style it'll end up in mothballs.

Edit* almost forgot, saw A post A few days back that said the Living Ships Beam Weapon hits at A further distance than any other weapon, something like 2k for distance vs 1,400 for regular.

Haven't tested & don't really care to, I go for Style over function for the most part.

Fixed it for yah.... and all you need is 2 supercharged slots close enough for your Infra-knife ;)

Those that know... just know
