I oopsed and lost my Atlantid drive
I'm sort of on a barebones start in my Expedition 17 run (nearly at the 3rd group of mileposts), hit trade on ship purchase without uninstalling the Atlantid drive and other tech first. So all the installed tech is gone.

I'm screwed and need to go through the whole hyperdrive upgrade route up to Atlantid drive construction right? :steamfacepalm:

Probably, but you might be able to use the ancient gates to get access to the various systems without access to any hyper drive.
did you save after or can you simply reload your restore point save to before the purchase?

And no, you'd have to do the Artemis path, Atlas path, and Autophage missions to get to the point of unlocking the Atlantid drive (you can't purchase the BP).
And the story missions don't trigger during the expo, so you'd be completely out of luck if you cant reload...

If you had left the game running, you may have been able to wait for the old ship to land again and buy it back, but it's probably too late for that now

Even "if" that were possible, it would be excruciatingly long.

The problem is, when you are playing "on" an expedition, regardless of how you started it, you do not get any of the normal story missions that would be required.

Edit: if this save was "new" for the expedition, then just leave it and start another new save. If you started from the Anomaly, you can force the expedition to "end" by going offline and editing the JSON file

this is fixed in experimental build so there will be a main patch soon to remedy this

Hmm, that’s not how I read the following Exp build notes

*Nothing about Atlantid drive & the missing hyperdrive was indeed a bug

I hope I’m wrong

You have the Atlantid drive pattern by default in Expedition, unfortunately you need Indium to craft it so...
So? nothing stopping you from building a Cadmium and then Emeril Drive to get some from relevant system, get plans from the Anomaly.

Update: I spent a couple of hours fabbing the drives up to Atlantid, was a silly detour in progress but my own mistake :p

Don't be like me.

there's nothing stopping you from getting the cadmium, emeril and indium drives, but the atlantid drive cannot be purchased. The blueprint can only be obtained via the new mission

I summoned the anomaly, retrieved a ship from a prior expedition, took it to a blue star, mined the resources, summoned the anomaly, portal'd back to the prior system, swapped to the original ship, fixed the drive, and continued on.

when you say you "fixed the drive", that would imply you still had it.... which the op does not...
Hi all, I have the same issue. Atlantid drive gone as I got a new ship. Got the blueprints and assembled it as far as possible. Indium is missing and I can’t get it, because I need an Atlantid Drive to get to a planet providing it as a resource. Sounds a bit like chicken and egg. Any ideas how I can get Indium?

Thanks in advance!

Indium can be RNG found in Buried Caches which can be found on just about every planet in the game.

*sigh* people never fail to fail in the most silly ways.

All the materials for various Drives (Chromatic Metal, Cadmium, Emeril, Indium) can be found within the accessible systems in a progressing manner - Chromatic Metal opens access to Cadmium, Cadmium opens access to Emeril, Emeril opens access to Indium. Chromatic metal can be obtain in a variety of ways, but the most common are: refining Copper, refining Quartzite/Activated Quartzite (pertaining to the latest expedition).
Thank you both for your comments and suggestions. I am playing the current community expedition. I am guessing the progression path might be a bit different compared to the standard game. I got myself a new ship without dismantling the Atlantid drive beforehand. I found a planet in a nearby system but I can’t get to it because I do not have the Atlantid drive. I will try the buried cache. Also I think I got a planet with Cadmium. Maybe that will help going down the progression route.
