Expedition 17 "Legacy" why would you do this?
"rename something you discovered first" in a game with a bunch of players scanning everything. This must rank about the dumbest addition to an expedition. So those of use that aren't lucky enough to find something first and with no easy way t o scan to see if you scanned it first you have to fly off to random systems and hope you find one you can make a first discovery on. Really dumb. Please do NOT make milestones like this in the future!

It's really not hard to get to an unexplored system, even around expo areas.
Just warp a few k ly away in any direction but the core path and you should be fine...

You'll definitely won't find anything "undiscovered" in the starting system, but finding an untouched planet is really not such a big hassle. Literally did this milestone a few minutes after leaving the first system. Just make two or three warp jumps in random direction.

Take a black hole, surely you'll find unexplored systems
Another valid option is to go to one of the "special bases" you will find in the Anomaly. Jump a couple thousand lys in any direction and stake your claim. You are making this harder than it needs to be. We have barely scratched the surface of undiscovered systems in any galaxy.

I thought that was the easiest objective. You just fly literally anywhere other than the waypoint and done. You can see something like 10,000 solar systems if you just rotate around a solar system.

this works in the first couple of days of an expedition, but if you start your expedition after four weeks it takes much longer, since literally thousands of players have discovered tons of systems around the expedition path.

If you upgrade your hyper drive you can reach literally 1 million+ systems in a single jump. You're really overstating the issue.

Even after 6 weeks, there will still be plenty of unexplored systems around once you get a few thousand ly away from the expo systems... and even then, you just need to rename one thing... so even if a system was discovered, there can still be plenty of undiscovered stuff there...
Yeah, just go off the expedition path. Plenty of unexplored systems.

You can also still find systems from prior to joining Expedition, and rename anything from one of those systems and it counts. That's what I did to save myself the warping around.

I recommend renaming the Save Posts....no one seems to notice those can be renamed too

I turned off multi player mode but still haven't found an undiscovered system.
