Manufacturing Facilities: Omnitool Expansion Slot or New Recipe
I want Expansion Slots but then New Recipes could make life a lot easier.

So far this seems to be the only way to get new recipes. Which makes it a tough choice.

What do *you* think?

You can buy the recipes with nanites at a terminal on the Anomaly. Can't buy MT expansion slots though. Eventually you'll end up with too many of them, but they're very useful early/mid game.

Advance the questline (be it the main story one in regular gameplay or the Expedition one) far enough, you'll unlock the Anomaly, a place where you can get all of those recipes for Nanites. There are certain Manufacturing Plants that'll give you a random Technology you don't have if you solve them, too. If you're looking for MT Expansions, your alternative best bet are either missions or Freighter crashes. Latter tend to have a grabbag of good stuff, but a radiation spike upon opening the cargo pod. Can also drop Freighter, Exo, or Starship Expansions.

Are you talking about the same Manufacturing Facilities (where you have to chose between Expansion Slot and recipe) or other ones?

If the later: Please more info.

You aren't going to get more than those available on the Anomaly. The manufacturing Centers can only give you a "new" recipe if you DO NOT yet have all of them. The ones listed in the tech tree at the Anomaly are all that there are, by design. There is no 'secret stash' or secret list of recipes just available from the buildings.

You can buy all of the recipes taught at the factory from the Anomaly for 250 nanites per.

Choose the MT slot.

Don't choose the Nanites, whatever you do. It's only like 80-150 which is absolutely lame.

EDIT: Do not forget that there are two pages of stuff. There's a HUGE tree of craftable trade goods on the 2nd page.

fwiw, a long time ago, before the anomaly, raiding the facilities was one of the better ways to get the recipes. Had me crossing my fingers with every raid and created a different game mechanic where at a certain part in the game I focused for an extended period on the raids. Also made being able to understand the language more important to respond appropriately to the facilities.

This was true. It used to be one of those things, like visiting the graves of travellers to get all 16 warp glyphs.

But just buy the recipes from the anomaly. The one thing you can't just snap your fingers and buy is the expansion slots.

I bought every recipe from the anomaly. But there must be a much more. Like Wire Loom etc. Also pressing Esc and then going to the recipes show there are many, many more to discover. Not only do recipes save a lot of hassle to find items, they can also make quite rich if you can craft the 15 million units items. With this money I could buy as many omnitool expansion slots as I want I suppose.

The other recipes are likely the tech recipes, such as the efficient thrusters, etc.

They were the only way to get the recipes before that station was added to the Anomaly. You had to get all of those, at 2 per factory. It took a long, long time. It was a serious chore.

Oh I see. That comes surprising. Good that you informed me.
Here two printscreen from Synthesis Laboratory on the Anomaly to be sure:
1) Components & Devices https://gyazo.com/6ed79307a8f017aca47b0b271baea25b
2) Valuable Products https://gyazo.com/22420f4ffd1829d89ea29aa2a34f8fb1

Edit: I just see that these recipes are enough to craft the two 15 million unit devices Fusion Ignitor and Stasis Device. So this "quest" seems to be solved/achieved.

The next important question:

Where/how can I learn all the Refiner Recipes which are in the game?

I know for instance that instead of needing Frozen Crystals to craft Glas I can just refine Silicone, which makes my life easier if I dont have to care for Frozen Crystals. I hope I find as many recipes as possible, but so far I dont know another way than just try it. That was fine as long my refiner just had one input slot. Now with two and three inputs .... I need some help here to find out all refiner recipes :steamhappy:

The wiki probably has most of them. Some of them might be the brand new ones involving minerals such as quartzite->chromatic metal, or crystallized helium -> ferrite.

Thank you.

Apart from trying myself all possible combinations:

Or is there a in-game-mechanic to receive new Refiner Recipes or is the wiki the only way to learn them?

the free phone app 'Assistant for NMS' has all the refiner recipes and is a god send (there is also a web page version)
