Otherwise all I can tell you is keep doing jumps (with your starship, not freighter) until it starts up,. I had similar issues the first time I did it where I was like, wtf am I missing? And it ended up firing up on my very next jump after I posed a similar question to what you are doing here.
What Jaggid said. You need to complete the questline that has you choose a new "galaxy", (red/blue/green, normal, lush, harsh etc) Only after you get to the new galaxy (one other than Euclid) will that questline pop and it may take another jump to a second system then a slightly sustained pulse. The pulse is what pops it within the system. Don't despair but do get the terms firmly stuck in your brain. Galaxy, system, planet; warp/jump, pulse.
Blue Book quiz on Tuesday. Bring three sharp No.2 pencils...
As already stated above, you need to:
Complete the Artemis story line and choose a colored galaxy inside the Atlas
Obtain the buzz lightyear wings by finding and unlocking a Harmonic camp. It's irrelevant as to whether you obtain a multi-tool or ship, just unlock the terminal
You have to complete the story[nomanssky.fandom.com] missions to select a new galaxy[nomanssky.fandom.com].
I'm pretty sure I have a screenshot but am too lazy this early in the am. Here the final section of the Artemis story - you select one of these colored orbs (they are a new galaxy) and you will watch the normal galaxy animations and finally spawn on a new planet in a new galaxy ("We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto")

Actually my guide has screenshots of the Orbs too (select "Hello Atlas" section)

This game is a bit confusing the first time (at least) you go through the initial quests that are both tutorial and take you all the way to making the trip to a second galaxy through the quests, not just jumping there manually. Curb your enthusiasm for running ahead to complete things. Sometimes makes them actually take longer when not done in "order".
I have found that if you really get confused it's time to go to the Fandom Wiki and see what quests show on your screen and where they are in the list on Wiki. From there you can see how far you have to go. And read the quests as you progress through them. There sometimes is something left to complete that does not seem obvious. It's a big complicated game and it's easy to get confused. Good luck.
