Living frigates
Hey guys. Tell me what to feed live frigates? And how do you make food for them? I got one live frigate and I don’t know what to do with it, it feels like ordinary frigates are superior to it in everything.

Living frigates behave just the same as regular frigates and level-up the same way. You can redistribute their points by feeding them nearly any foodstuffs. Unfortunately, every Living frigate is unique in how it responds to different food. No one can tell you what to feed it, you'll just have to experiment. Me, I just let the frigates be what they want and never feed them. : )

All of my organic frigates are industrial for some reason. When I go into that interface to feed it, nothing comes up available to put in there.

Gotta be higher end cooking items, like donuts, cakes, ice cream and pudding. hmmm, come to think of it, maybe they just like sweets lol

I have fed many a living frigate, adjusts mah chef's hat, and giving them fancy food does nothing extra and has been worse than just low level foods. It is totally true each one is different with what changes its stats. Make some low level foods, maybe a cheeze, milk products seem to make most stuff be support, eggs too, but make some processed meat, sausages, mystery stews, stewed veggies, pies, something from several different kinds of foods.

Stand at your save point in freighter, make the save, try a food, reload save, write it down maybe if you get easily confused. Select different foods until you get all the frigate styles, and reload save over and over so you don't waste foods. If nothing happens that means it is a food for that style you are on. Something good might turn up, ya never know. The only problem with making them supports is they themselves never get low fuel usage but they can be good for shortening long voyages. It's all trial and error.

I don't find them often to be high stats no matter what I do - and I do understand the process fairly well at this point. I think one time I got at S class industrial w/ 45 stat, cost me a bundle. Mostly I just try and have one of each kind and a couple supports so I can add one to each mission & call it good. And they look cool. Minigame complete.

I don't think they actually change the total number tho. Admittedly, I can count the number of times I've fed my frigates on one hand, but I'm pretty sure, if you added up all the base numbers(as in the stats before freighter upgrades are applied) it was always equal, just shifted the focus to a different stat.

Yes indeed but one can be hopeful, especially if it starts out as a semi-support.

The only thing that food does to living frigates is change the class and redistribute equal points. All you need is to try different food, raw or processed until u get the class u want. That's it.

As side note, LF seem to be immune to damage during missions.

Thank you. Tell me, where to cook food? Maybe there are recipes?

you have to feed anything to it and see what what happens, different foods do different stuff on different frigates so you have to do testing yourself, it does not have to be any fancy food , but different food give different bonuses when you use those so that is the thing which affects it most, some foods do give better results than others but you have to test those.

Organic frigates gives you different drops from expeditions so if you plan to get living ship for yourself to fly then those frigates helps you to get some upgrades for ship.

Everything that's edible. What give them high stats is completely random. In a same food category all the dishes will give a bonus to the same stat, but one single will give the highest bonus available.
Fill a hauler with different food and make your frigate taste everything (they may refuse to eat some things tho), have a stack of bread or meat in your exosuit to rince their palate between dishes.
Got all my living frigates already at rank-S thanks to coordinates and for now my living frigate that got the best bonus earned +35 to combat, others have 26 to 32, some food give high bonus to 2 stats (+20) at the same time... definitely worth the trouble.
And if you write down what give your living frigates the best bonus in all the different stats, you can re-configurate them before expeditions by feeding them accordingly.

Erratum: actually, she's 38 now... she really like donuts..

Guys, tell me the recipes that you cook for them. I just have no idea what to cook, there are no recipes in the game.
Krash Megiddo May 16, 2023 @ 4:55am
They say any low tier biscuit will do.
Foxglovez May 16, 2023 @ 7:21am
You are going to have to do your own work. There are many sites, like noted above that will tell you how. Pen and paper are your friend or there's an app for it I hear.

Thank you. Can you tell me more how to define one food group? Because one group of food gives the same stats, you don’t want to feed the frigates too much. There are absolutely no hints in the game as to whether the food belongs to any group...
