Additionally, be aware that the model used for the capital freighter in a system is the same, no matter what class it is. Same exact makeup of parts, right down to how many segements it has, etc. So once you've seen the capital freighter in a system once, regardless of class, if it is not what you wanted, you need to try other systems.
Or you could just use NMSCE to find the glyphs for a system that has one you want, portal there, and then trigger your next Space Rescue in that specific system.
mmm I'm missing glyphs, but thanks.
In other words, if it is a small freighter, it can still be an S range? because what matters to me is the construction and storage space xd. so I don't get too much trouble
Edit: just to give you the specific, precise weights for an S-Class by system wealth:
Outlaw: 5%
High Wealth: 2%
Medium Wealth: 1%
Low Wealth: 0%
These probabilities are still accurate as of the most recent game update. I look inside the game files to confirm nothing changed in that regards after every game update.
So it was always my understanding that we could find an S class in any system but you had a longer struggle in the lower economy systems. I never realized that there was no chance at all.
Thank you.
0 for the weighting probability might not be "no chance at all".
Hello Games has done some slightly wacky things when it comes to the weighting probabilities of other things so without seeing the actual game 'code' rather than just the weightings which are in the files I can look at, I personally am not willing to say that 0% and "no chance at all" are quite the same thing.
Regardless though, it's stupidly, ridiculously, unlikely even if it is remotely possible. LOL
Unless you are hunting Exotic ships. Those are always S-Class, and they can (and do) appear in low wealth systems. The probabilities for S-class ships has no bearing on Exotic appearance.
Okay. Good to know. Thanks. I have never sought out an S class freighter in a low economy system, which is why I never realized. I like better odds. Who doesn't?
And yes, I've never failed to find an Exotic in any system.
Thanks again.

I get the exact freighter model (and size) with the captain's race I want, in S-class every single save, and it usually never takes more than 3 hours (occasionally 4ish hours, but also sometimes less than an hour), and almost always in a three star system, not a pirate system.
Getting the model and size you want really doesn't take that long. (First tip) is to be aware when you are getting close to an upcoming freighter battle. When you are, always save in a space station before you warp out. Once you warp into a freighter battle, immediately reload restore save which puts you back at the space station you just warped from. Now fly out of the space station and open galaxy map. (second tip) is you have to have economy scanner, Now say you want a Korvax captain. You will only be searching Korvax 3 star economies (you can include pirate systems, but the draw back is you can get attacked by additional pirates while in the freighter battle.) (Third tip) start as close to the system you are in as you can and methodically work your way outward. As soon as you find a 3 star korvax system, warp to it. Check the ship. If it is the ship (model and size) you like, fly straight to that system's space station, jump out quickly to save and then head into the battle. Complete the battle, land on freighter, jump out look at the freighter wall with your visor to see its class. If it is not the class you want, reload save right then, and you will be back at the space station in the system of the freighter battle. Rinse and repeat until you get your class.
If when you warp into the korvax system, the ship is not the model/size you want, reload save right away and then pick another 3 star korvax system and check it for the freighter model size you want. Slowly work your way outwards on the galaxy map. I have never gotten more than 1,000ly out from my starting system before finding my ship. This part, finding the freighter model/size I want with the captain's race I want, never takes me more than 30-40 minutes. From that point on I'm just working on the class.
I get this exact freighter (Sentinel Dreadnought, 7 sets of square storage pods with two quad sets of sphere pods under the belly, with korvax capt.) every save. I totally get that some people are not going to spend 3-4 hours getting a specific freighter model in an S-class. This reply is to those who do want to do the work and have the satisfaction of getting the ship they want in an S-class. It's all relative, really. My two main saves, have over 400 hours each on them. The three hours or so seems pretty small within that context.
