How do people stand having the Venator-family freighter?

That big tower thing is so high, and totally blocks the view to the rear when in your freighter base. I don't know about anyone else, but I like my freighter base to have a nice view.

I had gotten a Venator on the current new-save I'm playing, and at first I was like "cool! I am keeping this", but that VIEW!

I replaced it with a system freighter. Much better view.

My first to saves in NMS, I chose the venator. I thought it was the best looking of the two capital ships. But it has that bug where an entire section of the ship is missing at times, randomly. One minute you have a whole ship, the next, you don't. It drove me crazy, so I switched to the Sentinel Dreadnought thinking I would switch back when HG fixed the issue. Years later they still haven't so I haven't.

I have always preferred the Venator style over the dreadnought, mainly because of the landing bay. I haven't tried any of the new-ish construction parts yet, but I used to build 'outdoor' patio's and such before they patched out that exploit. Enjoyed the view back then, now you have given me something to do again in the game... :)

I always get a Venator - never even noticed the lack of a view at the rear, or maybe I just got used to it? I don't like the Sentinel class due to those damn poles right outside the docking bay and I always seem to fall through the floor on system freighters.

It would be nice to get some new designs, but my hopes aren't very high :)

The venator is the starwars empire style which has a clear view to the hangar. The dreadnought is the one with a big post blocking the hangar.

We need pictures to know exactly what you're talking about because I doubt you mixed up the terms.

I know my freighters, I was talking about the Venator. That's my favorite LOOKING of the capital ships.

The view to the rear is blocked by the 'tower' part of the freighter. I put a lot of windows in my freighter bases, so I can see the planets and suns, etc. And that view block drives me wonky. Because other than that, it would be my favorite freighter.

And comparing it to the above image someone else showed of their venator....I think the issue is that THIS particular Venator has a more obtrusive part back there, because the one Tsunamisan posted has a slightly different piece there. Didn't even think of that (been a while since I've gotten one of these, I've been doing System freighters in most saves).

There are Venator variants without any significant superstructure topside.

Ahh, I need to sleep more, as I should have realized that before I even posted. This view has been driving me bonkers for the past 24 hours.

Time to hunt for a new freighter. Thank god I haven't had this one long enough to have wasted many cargo bulkheads.

I have seen only a few of the Venators with that smaller structure, but never grabbed one, for whatever reason. Most I have found have the 'Star Destroyer' tower. Like already said, there is that annoying tower in front of the hanger that seems to be on every dreadnought I have found. I prefer clean landing/takeoff over view, but that's me.

There's a mod that makes that tower no-clip, so you can't collide with it even if you try.

Dunno. I always preferred Dreadnoughts. Since I got my hands on an S-class T3 one I can't stand other ships. Antennae obstructing landing/takeoff? Hello-o there, we're talking about a combat-grade ship. Comfort is back in civillian sphere. You want some serious firepower, like a ton of guns on your ship - you have to pay the price.

Eh? This discussion is about freighters not ships. You can not pilot or engage in battles with a freighter.

You might, but most people wont when your dealing with made up names that aren't actually part of the game at all.
