I tried today and not working. Steam input for PS5 controller doesn't do the triggers and disabling Steam input for PS5 to be read natively means the controller isn't read at all.
Official controller setups were adjusted but this is in part Valve's new controller configuration UI not being very stable either (though it should become more stable over time) but it is an improvement on the previous UI. A custom generic controller set up can work again as expected by deleting any previously saved customised setups and downloading the Official Controller setup (for my controller type). Switch Steams' UI to Steam's Big Picture mode which is designed for controller use and more stable, when adjusting and saving setups. Once the official setup is downloaded it should worked fine. THEN begin to customise the controller again (which can take several minutes) and things should work as expected.
Note to delete a setup from being recognised by the controller and not being used when the game runs it must be deleted. Downloading the official setup and using that should replace any incompatible controller setup previously loaded when the game is run. Then you should be able to delete incompatible or older custom setups that you may have saved. These may have been saved locally as a personal save or saved as templates or as a shared community download.
UPDATE: I had the controller set to "enable steam input" and that made it function with no vibration or adaptive triggers. So, I then tried "Disable steam input" But that made it not work at all.
Set it to default instead.
If you look at the configurations list after doing so you'll see that the dualsense has a specific profile setup through steam. Restart the game (Or change this while it isn't booted) and chango presto it works again
I didn't think Dualsense features works with Linux cause Sony didn't make their driver program for Linux. At least never has on my Steam Deck.
EDIT Sept.17th : Maybe I m wrong and we still dont have the adaptive triger s forcefeedback with Linux, I confuse with Windows. I need to test this point to remember. But all the rest is fine, the Sense, the mic, the tacticle surface etc.
My experience in this link, but had the problem "before" (and i had a delay myself because I was offline to dont have tons of players bases icons all over the starting system) https://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/2/6679490060454643128/
