How many ships can you own now?

I heard something about them having raised the number of ships you can own. I currently have 6 ships, how many more can I get?

You can add another 6 to your pool.

Only 6 spots in the freighter are used anyway to allow NPC traffic. You can switch ships from the x-menu as if youw ere planetside.
