Personally, staying in a single planet or system is entirely pointless.
You can instantly warp back to your base using the teleporter found in any trade station, as long as your base has a powered warp portal.
I really suggest you get out and explore, there's a lot of beautiful things to see out there.
After all, the game is (not mainly, I think) about exploration.
but building base is not needed , maybe just for those quests to unlock some things.

actually it was perfect place as farmer want you to collect some plants and plant those, so you can buy all those from passing trader ships when you visit enough of those.
I personally build atleast a small base in every galaxy i ever stepped in and i really only use freighter as my main base cause it's too convenience to travel around and everything you do just summon freighter so u can access everything in your freighter instead going back and forth to your planet bases.
Or Just stay in Euclid :)
