Defeated sentinel waves but no sentinel nest was revealed
I found a marshy planet I kinda like and was gonna build a base here. It says high sentinel activity which is annoying, so I want to find the sentinel nest to build a base next to it so I can always shut the sentinels down easily.

I defeated the waves of sentinels including the walker, but no sentinel nest was revealed.

what gives?

You probably have a rogue sentinel wandering around you didn't kill.

Did you get that loud "BWAP" sound that indicates the Sentinels are shut down?
If not, then there's one still out there.

Even after the walker is killed all the attendant ones have to be mopped up. Use your visor to ck for the rando. Could be a doggie under the floor or a healer in the wall.

IDK but why choose a planet with high sentinel activity if thats not what you wanted ?
Plenty of planets with little to no sentinels

What's the planet situation like? it is possible that there are none in the system if the planet types are right. Certain planet types don't have Sentinel Pillars, in which case it would normally direct you to another planet, but if there are only a couple planets, neither of which support sentinel pillars, you would get nothing.

High Sentinel Activity isn't a big deal. I mean, how often do you go running around mining on bases? Usually they're set up to avoid it all together.

because I can't find any paradise or near-paradise planets with zero sentinel activity...

i just defeated the waves of sentinels again but again got not sentinel nest waypoint marker, so i guess there just isn't one in this system.

I'm trying to find a nice planet in a blue star system with no sentinels and no hazardous environment to build a base on but not really having any luck.

idk what you mean? I am manually mining quite a lot because I don't really have any bases set up to get resources automatically yet.

Is it a dissonant planet? Not sure if that affects things.

You can tell if you actually finish a sentinel hunt because after you kill all five waves (check in upper Rt to count the red dots to know what wave you are on) the bigassed walker and then all his buddies - then and only then will you get a burst of energy followed by the same visual you get when you set down a base computer when the big expanding circle happens. If you don't get that then you have not finished the sentinel hunt and there are random one or ones left to kill. As noted above it's probably a healer in a wall, a doggie in the floor. Just use your Visor to look around. It will show the very specific rather large red dot that is a sentinel. Clean it up and as noted above you may have to lure it away from a building if you are in or near one. It's really easy to miss them. As soon as you get the visual game will zoom in and show you the pillar icon. Only then are you done.

Be sure and pick up every last canister. The Purple ones you want to shoot up for quad servos. If you interact with them then you get hardframe engines and you only need about two of those for very specific items, quads you need tons for frigate quest upgrades. You can also get pillar maps, all sorts of goodies from the green cans. Use your visor to be sure they are all mopped up. When you are done, if you like the fight area then use your terrain manipulator and fill in all the holes so you can drag them in and fight again. Might also consider putting down some flooring in front of doors of bldgs if you have really deep holes there. LOL No fun trying to get out of them under pressure. Those pithy quotes you get from dying are better served rarely.

The pillar may not be on the same planet, that happens, but I have never known a whole system not to have one. That is probably just someone not understanding they didn't finish the fight.

Dissonant fights are different and I would avoid mixing the two. They have little doggies that get stuck all over the place and will make the fight really annoying though if you are looking for more combat doing both fights at the same time might be interesting. The count down for them aborting is really short too so you can be in and out of a fight and chasing them around for what seems like forever. Grrrrrrrr.

yeah so im not sure what's happening but I do not get the zoom out animation thing after killing the sentinels.

the only thing I get is a notification that i've killed them and that the sentinels have been deactivated for some time. I've used my visor looking for stragglers but there are none to be found anywhere.

i've just abandoned that planet and gone looking for something better, heh.
