I found an Alien S Class that way.
I got a question. Whats the difference ?
If you have a S fully slotted multi-tool.
Is there a difference between one and the other ? If they are both S class what does one have to offer that another doesnt ?
The MT hunt is a mini-game you can play in NMS. Some of us like the hunt, even if it's just the hunt on reddit (depending on my mood) to find just the right tool. The new ones, the autophage staves and interceptor ones plus the newest ones you get at the Korvax sites are pretty fun too and slightly different yet again in looks if nothing else. Bling is important.
Yea not so much for me.
I went forever with barely any life support mods.
I got a A class multi tool its got more than enough slots for what I need.
I'm sure a S class maxed out with tech is really quick.
I really only use it for minebeam, scatter blaster and terrain editor anyways.
the 2 most important things to remember when going for a 'published' MT (or ship) are...
1) always follow the instructions given by the finder to the letter
2) always have MP disabled in network settings BEFORE you go to the system
regarding (1) this is cos sometimes you need to switch the MT that shows up in the cabinet, this is done by 'save and reload' either on the space station or one of the planets in the system, where to reload to force a particular MT into a particular cabinet has already been worked out by the player who shared the 'find'.... all you need to do is follow their instructions
good hunting
"S" class will likely have 4 supercharged slots, and higher default stats (Damage, etc)

2. different MT types have different bonuses... sentinel/rifles boost damage, royals boost scanning, etc.
3. sentinel, atlantid and atlas scepter can have 2 core mining beam modules, which massively reduces their overheat rate
The differences aren't all that important though... once you have good S or X class upgrades, any MT will be powerful enough anyway
