Vile Brood planets

Hey guys

I just came across a planet that has the Vile Brood, so far it's very peaceful. So is there anything special about those planets beside the Juicy grub I can pick up and crush to summon the Brood into battle, I'm not even sure if they drop anything specific.

Anyone know if there is any use to fight these guys, like a mission related objective?

I just finished the last expedition and was hopping those planets would be dangerous as in they would ambush us when exploring buildings like they did in the Expedition

Nope. In the normal game vile brood is just the grubs and squishing them for the brood to appear.

Vile Brood don't have any drop in expedition.
However in normal game slain a boss can drop you one cosmetic item - helmet (approximately 30% chance). And you can harvest up to 3 new helmets from those fights.

I've been exploring multiple buildings on a few planet with the Vile brood status, nothing happen at all

Nothing special beyond the grubs afaik...

This was just for the Expedition and had nothing to do with being a vile brood planet. It happened on every planet...

what Scaramouche is talking about only happens in Expedition 14... once you complete it and go back to a Normal game, you have to squish or shoot the grubs you find to bring the Broodmother out for a fight...

There's a Nexus mission that involves finding and destroying a few Broods, I think it was called Swarmsong. Similar to finding and destroying the Hungering Tendrils.

there's also a few things you can get from the mother... idk the %rate of drop for them, though...

yeah, I'm pretty sure there are around 4 cosmetic parts you can get for your character when you kill brood mothers... I've no idea what the % is either
But I don't know if you have to smash the grubs on a vile brood planet for them to spawn... (I've yet to bother testing since finishing the expo). I think the only thing that make those planets special is being able to find the grubs...
