Expedition 13???

Has anyone heard if there will be an Expedition 13? I looked back at the history of time that has passed between one expedition ending and a new one starting, and the time differences varied. Therefore, I'm just wondering if there has been any news or anything mentioning Expedition 13, and that's IF it will even become active.

HG doesn't release news about the game, so no one knows. We will know there will be an update of some type when Sean Murray posts an emoji on his Xitter account. He usually does that a few days before an update hits.

I don't think expeditions will be abandoned, though. If nothing else, they're a good way to have "free-to-play" weekends like they did with the last one, and that's a good way to entice new buyers. Since new buyers is the only way that HG makes money on this game, it's a good strategy now that the game is available on pretty much every platform that exists, so they can't expand that way.

If I had to guess, I'd say they will continue until ...16...16...16...

We don't have any idea if there will even be an Expedition 13. Now that they introduced the expedition table behind the Nexus mission station, they may be prepping to allow players to do any of the existing 12 at any time or during some period every so often. (possible other permutations on that idea as well)

It seems unlikely they will abandoned the expedition concept since they did put in the Anomaly feature, but they have a new game coming out soon...so I think it is premature to just assume we will have a 13 and counting. They do tend to drive new sales and pump up players in game numbers. I am hoping there are some new Expeditions but not putting that in the bank yet.

I hope so. Would prefer always on lol. I am no programmer, but should be easy to allow for an always on option with the only intervention being to move the starting system over time for fresh real estate. Preferably to random Galaxies and not always in the "starter band" of said Galaxies.

Anyhow 13 sounds like a great idea.

I really only completed Expedition 12 and didn't fully realise what Expeditions were until #12. Previously, I occasionally played for the story line missions and the exploring (discovering new systems and planets). However, I read up and learned about Expeditions after #12 became active, and then participated in it. I wound up having a lot of fun and loved getting the extra unique little goodies

It would be awesome to have Expeditions regularly and would actually get people involved more frequently seeing they would get some special treats in the end haha.

I did read in a Reddit blog that sometime before or during the previous holiday season, they had all the Expeditions available for a certain period of time to allow players the opportunity in completing any past Expeditions and earning any previous rewards. I thought an idea they COULD utilise would be like every year is a new "season" where they have a handful of expeditions, then utilise the same idea of having a final Expedition run at the end of the year. But I'm mostly just thinking out loud.

Overall, it would be awesome to see an Expedition 13, but if not, then it was fun for the single one I completed lol!

You know what? Sounds about right for it to be 16 expeditions. One was repeated recently probably because they needed more time to work on stuff, like the Omega update and Light No Fire.
We might have four more expeditions this year, or even slowly going up to that number until the end of next year. After that, who knows, but We'll probably see a release window of light no fire by then and they will slowly stop work on NMS.

The Community Expedition in Select Game Mode still says "New Expedition Coming Soon". So, keep checking.
