back to main save from expedition what happens to vaults at bases?

I have never done an expedition from my main save game. This time I did. From what I have read you can keep stuff like when you went from Main save to the expedition. Also heard that you still have access to the bases from the expedition. I have a vault that I unlocked during the expedition on a base. What happens when I go back to my main game? I know that Vault 0 is full in my main game with other stuff. Do I need to empty the vault in the expedition before going back to my main game? Not sure what it will do with two vaults that are full of different items. Wanted to ask before I go back to main save so I don't have issues. Thanks!

If you use a main save to do the expedition, then any bases you created in the expedition, will be available to your main save after exiting the expedition.

Any excess items not transferred from the Expedition via the transfer terminal will be calculated into units, nanites and quicksilver. So expedition items you gained and placed into storage crates in the expedition will be converted to units and nanites. So take out what you want and transfer them before exiting the expedition.

Your storage crates in your main save will be as you left them before entering the expedition.

So long as you have not ended the expedition at the anomaly means you can transfer items to your main.

When you do end the expedition, everything you had becomes units and nanities, other than quicksilver that you will have been awarded, so all storage on the expedition save is converted as above, you just get paid for them.

To transfer items to your main is a bit of a tedious task but possible, ensure you have completed all phases of the expedition AND the final phase screen with the Expedition 15: Aquarius gold and black banner.

From there you can load up your inventory with items, visit the anomaly and the expedition console to transfer items to your main game, once all slots are filled use the RETURN key (right click if mouse/keyboard) to exit, then i usually jump in/out ship to save.

Hit ESC and in options change to Primary save, go to console and extract all your stuff, put into cargo as needed to free up your space, again I jump in/out ship to save and then use the console to switch back into the expedition and repeat until all items I want are transferred over.

If you have a good multi-tool and ship you want, make sure they are the last things you have selected, even after you end the expedition, these can be copied.

For every other ship, remove tech mods and transfer to primary save before scrapping them for units, if you would prefer units.

Freighters and frigates will be converted to units/nanites, bases will be transferred to your primary save as a location you can get to, NO cargo/items will be transferred, only your existing cargo/items will be there as is what you have acquired on your primary game.

Thanks! I was pretty sure of how it worked just wanted to confirm before going back to my main save. Glad we can still access the bases. A few of the planets were nice & being able to go back to the bases will be fun.

Oh i should add, you can stack in the console like in cargo inventories, often you can put two stacks of your inventory into one stack in the console, just saves a little space. Have to use a second free console slot to select a new stack then place it on top of one already in the console to add them together.
