Are there any planets with very deadly creatures?

A couple of times I have hit a Dissonance world that had some kind of Sentry issue (high alert etc.)
If I didn't get the critters before they touched me (and I am danged certain I didn't draw first blood), then they mangled me. Personal force field, jet pack and melee running with shield (augmented) hovering just a freckle past zero, done, gone!

Then there was the time when I had perhaps imbibed in a touch too much GekNip... well, that's another story for the grandkids :nmsatlas:

The Unspeakable Horrors are extremely hostile and swarm you after messing with the Whispering Eggs, Sentinals will vary from planet to planet with some attacking when you mess with plants, animals, or secured sites while others will attack you on site.

Random creatures might try to pick a fight with you, and some plants attack if you get too close but these are more of a nuisance. There are some things under water that attack if you get too close or mine stuff.

And finally the turrets and drones on most derelict freighters attack you when in range, or if its an infested ship be ready for a lot of bug swarms.

These are just some of the hostile encounters you may find based on your settings.

I was on a dissonant planet and some weird multi-eyestalk underground creature chased me and attacked me nearly killing me without any provocation. I flew up on top of my ship and got the heck outta there. I also have been attacked before by some creatures that had the description that they anger easily... boy that wasn't an understatement. I believe that you can toss creature pellets and they will decide not to attack you.

If you see a planet with a description like terrorsphere or worm infested drop by and have a look. That's a fun time. Truly nothing is all that dangerous. It's a casual game. I guess you can. Play perm death that makes some events a bit threatening.

I think the most hostile (and dangerous) creature has to be the one you disturb by harvesting Hadal Cores from an Alluring Specimen (underwater).

There is a setting in the game to have more hostile creatures. If that is what you are looking for. The game can be set in many ways to your game style and can even be changed off and on during game play.

If you want creatures to be dangerous, I suggest these mods

In a word - yes. The most dangerous are the tiny ones you don't see in long grass. One almost killed me recently. As AmberAnvil said, those things that come after you when mining under water are a challenge as are abyssal horrors (huge eyeball on a stalk).

Sentinels can be a real challenge, depending on your equipment, especially the ones with crystals in them on extreme planets.

Regarding carnivores: they have one of two possible behaviours assigned to them.

One has them chase other critters. The other has them chasing you.

Otherwise docile creatures can also become hostile if you 'accidentally' hit them.
Depends on which planets you discover. Some are highly dangerous and full of creatures that will take a paw swipe at unsuspecting players. If your suit defences are ill equipped or you're a new player you'll be dead in a couple of hits or die trying to escape without fuel to jump clear.

New players would do well to stay clear of releasing the deadly white jelly fish, mining rocks underwater. There is also a vicious sea creature in the deeper waters to be wary of, that hides in plain sight. It's quite docile until disturbed and is perhaps best avoided with the Nautilon submersible.

If you do die by any creature remember your suit can take damage and so re-spawning you'll be even weaker, possibly slower too, until kit is repaired. So take extra care retrieving your inventory drop from the grave stone marker where you died.

There are also a few other deliberately aggressive creatures to be fought for their 'valuable prize drops' and some may be encountered while completing secondary missions or entering derelict freighters.

There are also difficulty settings that can turn your game into a nightmare making many creatures and situations more hostile, which can be fun for a while playing the harder game modes and if you want to challenge friends perhaps with your own timed events, like first to make it off a hostile planet in a new start.

...and then there are other players to be wary of ... : D

And if you're asking because you'd rather avoid hostile creatures, there's a difficulty setting to remove them or make them only attack if you attack first.

Hostile towards player can be pretty rare. You can go several worlds and stars and never see one. You may see "predators" hunting others.

I kinda forgot they were in game at one point, and had double check I hadn't touched setting.
Then one day, landed on a planet where 4 of 6 wanted me died. LOL.
