Derelict Freighter - Additional Security Required???
I have bought a couple new beacons for derelict freighter missions the past 24 hours and I've even made sure to NOT put them into my personal refiner just in case they patched that bug. Every time, I open the airlock but after it gets to 100% an additional note pops up saying "Additional security required" and that gauge will go well past 100 and the door never opens.

Anyone else run into this? Anything work?

Ran 5 the other day, using my trusty backpack every time and it was fine. Never heard of that issue so no joy here.

I run a few derelicts pretty much every day, and I've never seen that issue.

The personal refiner thing has not been patched, btw. I don't expect it ever will be, because you can actually find and run a derelict freighter without having a emergency signal scanner. They can show up as random pulse encounters.

They only show up for me when I am on an organic frigate hunt so I sadly have to let them go. Always makes me cranky when it happens.

I am having this exact same issue. I bought my first beacon (new to the game). I was so excited. Then I was like "Surely there are a lot more than just this front space?!" I have reloaded from the previous save and tried several times. Reload, go through the process with pulse engines, and the same thing happens over and over. One time I left the game open for a 600+ second count to see if I was being impatient. Was about to submit a Zendesk ticket if I can find a link. There is an older thread on this exact issue named "Unable to open first door."

have seen that with a player on MAC... So I did join his session... I could open the door ... but he could not enter the first room...

Same did happen as he did join my session

C:\Users\YOUR_ID\AppData\Local\Temp
(it will be called something like
NMS_crash_xxxxxxxxxx_NMSVersion_0xCrashcode_SteamID.dmp

And a summary of dxdiag...a video...pics..etc

if you're going to glitch the beacons (which isn't really necessary as you can get a daily one free from the anomaly), why wouldn't you just do a single run and then refinery-dupe all the resources so you don't need to run another derelict?

I agree. This works for the Freighter S class upgrade modules too. A long with everything in the game. I find that I can enjoy going to any derelict freighter and enjoy the battle when I want and without regrets.

The beacons are okay to dupe too but I think that the Anomaly only gives out one free per week. Or so it used to be that way. I know that it could have changed. Everything is possible.

It's still one per week, not per day. Still, it's nice to be getting the free one at all. They had disabled that for a while.

Update: I am on a Mac too. I tried again. I started to leave the freighter, turned back to the freighter and the door unlocked. Not sure if that is a fluke but it worked. Will be trying my weekly free one in the next day or two. Will let you know if this is an issue with all my beacons.

[This worked for me the 3 times from 3 I tried, but that's hardly statistically significant, and YMMV.]

Having instructed the door to be unlocked via the console (ESB hidden), I let the normal countdown finish, and the "Additional Security" lobbox start. Jog out to ship, fly away for 10 seconds or so, land and jog back to now open inner door.

Encountered this very bug just now. I am on a MAC M2. No mods. Tried to leave and come back. Nothing works.

Maybe try flying away until you almost lose the derelict from the display before returning ? [M1 Mac, here.]
