Are there planets that have extreme storms that don't stop?
Currently going for The Sentinel achievement and decided I would just sit afk overnight in the roamer exo craft with the protection so I don't take damage from storms. One thing I didn't take into consideration is that even though this planet has activated indium I don't get a lot of storms and a whole 8 hours only increased it by 5000 minutes out of the ludicrous amount needed.

I traveled from blue system to blue system but couldn't find anything that just said storms so thought I would ask, thanks.

Even the most extreme storm planets will have a break in the storm. What's your difficulty level?

Ahhh, didn't think about difficulty playing into this but I am on normal mode

The extreme planets have storms frequently but I've never in 4000 hours seen a planet where it storms non-stop.

You're looking for planets with "Activated" chromatic metals. Copper, Cadmium, Emeril or Indium.

Not sure sitting in your ship or otherwise inside a building works any more. Be sure and check to be sure it's registering.

Sitting in your ship or in the Minotaur do not work, but sitting in the Roamer does, even if you have the hazard protection modules installed.

I got The Sentinel by building a base on an extreme planet. Time inside definitely counted, but I wasn't just waiting around either. Setting up 3 mining sites can be time consuming.

Time inside existing structures does NOT count any longer. I'm not sure about bases, but if you go inside an abandoned building, or a manufacturing facility, etc. the timer stops counting up.

It's very easy to watch the progress by 'pinning' that particular achievement from the Catalogue & Guides tab and setting it as your active mission in the log. You can then see it in the bottom right of your hud, and it counts up 1 minute per real-time second when you are getting credit.

Yes, I am currently building an entire complex and race track on an extreme desert world.....cross between Dune and Star Wars and you get the theme...wicked storms...night is cold/day is hot...and sandstorms and firestorms hit all the time. Half the time an alert sounds that a storm is coming I already thought I was in a storm.

No, all storms stop. Dig a hole and leave the game running overnight for a week. This game requires patience.

If you go underground it no longer works. Try it. Well it works if you are still taking damage but when that stops, so does the timer. Didn't used to be dat way.

extreme temps work wonders, find a planet that is boiling/frozen/toxic all the time with activated minerals on it and dig a small hole into a hill, your safe in there and it will always count as extreme even when no storms.
To find a planet with an activated mineral, just use the "codex" and track the mineral you desire. this works as of 17th June 2023 Australian eastern time

It worked for me as long as hazard protection stayed less than full; in other words, dig a hole just deep enough for your hazard protection to stop degrading, but not enough for it to recover to full.

I got the sentinel achievement by collecting Storm Crystals on mostly a Radiated Worlds, I think the extreme Radiation storms are the ones that reduce your vision the least.
