Quad Servos

Im fighting wave after wave of sentinals on the ground and I cant get quad servos. I have picked the barrels up with X, I have shot them to explode them, nothing..Help..

If I remember it right, you must SHOOT the BLUE barrels

You only get the Quad Servo for killing a Quad and picking up the blue barrel it drops.

One of you says shoot the barrel, the other says pick it up... the hint says to destroy combat barrels. Is it only from the blue ones that drop from the big guys? I have fought a bunch of them and tried both shooting and picking up.

only regular sentinel waves have sentinel "dogs" that drop quad servos. The new corrupted ones (purple) don't have that

As a note, you can pick up or destroy the barrels, works the same either way. In fact, you can destroy the barrels using your ship and get the contents..though that runs the risk of annoying more sentinels...

Neutron cannon works well in this scenario as even a near miss will harvest the barrel

Unless this changed; shooting vs pressing "e" to interact with ANY barrel did NOT yield the same.

It has been my experience that the ONLY way to "pick up" mech parts during "that" mission was to interact with "e" because if you shot the barrel you would not get the required part...

I always shoot the barrels and have never had an issue with Quad Servos or Walker Brains including during this expedition.

If you're doing this for the expedition, there's another expedition goal that awards them for you for far, far less work.

Just to make things clear, there is ONE sentinel loot item that is not available if you shoot the barrel vs. loot it with the interact key. It is the Hardframe Engine, from the Sentinel hardframe battle mech.

All the rest you get whether you loot or shoot the barrels. It doesn't matter.

I got quad servos from regular sentinels in the past and also possibly got them from returning frigate missions too on occasion. They may be offered as rare rewards in pirate controlled systems like other hard to come by items. I haven't tackled that many corrupted robot quads to compare them to regular sentinels servo drops but have a huge store of them on a main save from regular sentinel battles.

Yes there are other ways to get quad servos, however the purple sentinels don't seem to drop any. Or if they do, it's so rare you better change planet and go for normal sentinels right away

It is the purple barrels you shoot for the quad servos from the normal sentinels. When you walk up to them it says Hardframe Engine, which is what you will get (usually, didn't test during expedition) if you interact with the E key. Shoot it and get the QS. Also, can get as reward from the audiphage, 10 at a pop. And yes, will get as a reward but folks just sell them which is a poor idea during expeditions. Hoarding is your friend.

oh well there could a confusion : when i say purple sentinels I mean corrupted ones on dissonant planets. Nothing to do with purple barrels (just to be clear)

Shot the dog.
It drops a blue supply barrel.
Pick up the barrel.
Edit: you don't need to shoot the sentinel supply barrels, I never do.
