Report a translation problem
If you stopped at the space station in the mission system, then that system should appear in the station list. The most recent systems you visited should be at the top of the list.
You interact with the commerce ball at the trade center and you are technically done. You do have to go to ANY station to get the reward. I usually just go to the one in the system where I dropped it off.
If you are struggling, try going to the station and see if the system pings an icon on the teleport listing. If there is a quest, it usually shows that.
If you did sell it by accident, you need to find another replacement item- or just abandoned the mission. Usually abandoning is the simpler solution- and the knowledge to be more careful in the future with someone's stuff. I have sold or kept it because it was worth more to me than the reward...game is odd sometimes.
