Is Echo update not for everyone? - Can Contain Spoiler

So I came back and started to play NMS again after the Echo update. But trigger the Autophage quest. It is an old save 160 houers in. I have a settelment done the Trace To Metal, Have found a Harmonic Camp and did complete the Main Quest.

It still wont trigger. As i recall i did not chose to Reset the universe. And for what i can read then the Purge is not completed. And i Stil have The Atlas Path. But cant find the Atalas station. I found some saying that it is not possible to change the decision.

There for the question - Is the update not for the one chosing not to reset universe? Can i not get the staff multitool? Do i have to abandon this save and start over?

If Atlas quest finished - visit Korvax system. It should trigger it.

is there a way to see and make sure the Atlas quest is finished? Did not trigger at the first warp to Korvax system. But did it for the freigher. that might be the case?

Update: I did find a Korvax system. Did it from a spaceship. That did the trick.

I just checked my notes and in both 4.4 saves (restart and an Expedition 11 completion/conversion) it took at least 2 warps into Korvax systems to trigger. Both times the first warp triggered something else (an old style Freighter rescue and a Pirate Dreadnought Freighter battle) so I would suggest trying another couple of Korvax warps before giving up on a non-universe reset issue.

If that doesn't work and you need to try resetting the Atlas Path, have you asked Polo in the Anomaly for coordinates?

Ah, yeah, since the trigger is an autophage attempt to hijack a starship then it won't ever work with Freighter warps.

It should work on any save. Not sure what exactly triggers that mission, but triggered for me when I went from a pirate system to a Korvax system. I have done all the missions long ago so not sure which ones have to be done first.

It seems likely you may have to do the Artemis series and Atlas Path first. You can check on your log to see what missions are currently active. Be aware that you get the Atlas Path every time you change galaxies.

Sounds like you did the Artemis series if you remember choosing to not reset the galaxy. AFAIK, it should not matter what your choice was.

OK, so I have 1149 hours into this game. Still can't figure out how to activate the Echoes update. Heard something about the Artemis mission, did that, and the purge, did that, and the Atlas quest, did that also. Have a level "A" settlement. So, when does this Echoes Update kick in?

Have you previously unlocked a terminal at a Harmonic Camp on a Dissonant planet? You can tell if you have the Aeron Turbojet backpack unlocked. That's a pre-requisite.
On an existing save, it seems you also need to have done Trace of Metal quest triggered by managing a planetary settlement (this may not be required on a new save after 4.45).
