The use of companion accessories

Has anyone seen some info on how these work?
I don't see much effect from the companions.
Any guides or something to elaborate on the companions beside riding them....

I'm sure there are guides if you google, there are small differences in their behavior but you can't change it. Pets don't do anything useful.

the only pet accessory i use is the lasers... especially for my protective or aggressive pets... when you are attacked, they will respond if they are in range and see it... you might have to take a hit first, though...

also, some pets will find and bring things to you... pretty cool when it happens but no accessories needed for this AFAIK...

As noted, the strap on lasers will occasionally give you a "very small" increase in items mined. If the critter is aggressive, you will see a regular assortment of critters dead in your path...but you don't get anything for that, or at least I never have seen it.

As near as I can tell they do not effect pet behavior in anyway. They are purely cosmetic.
