New Starborn Phoenix starship

I just saw the special announcement for the new Starborn Phoenix starship. Anyone can access this and get it from the Quicksilver merchant on the Anomaly.

I'm waiting for the next expedition to claim it. I like to claim ships from an expedition and then bring them over into my main playthrough via the expedition terminal, that way they stay as still available to claim.

Exactly why I like to do it that way....I'm not entirely sure. I guess I just like to have a 'backup' available.

I think I just discovered my problem. I have to get rid of a ship. I have all s class except for two B that I love the design. If I get rid of the starborn runner can I reclaim it later?

Unless it has changed you can only claim a ship a single time on any given save slot, even if you no longer have it.

Worth noting I haven't tried it in a few years, so it might have changed. Also worth noting you can still do what I mentioned above, just do an expedition and claim it on the expedition. Then you can transfer it back to your main playthrough via the terminal.

Things are claimable from expeditions even if you have already claimed them on the save slot you started the expedition from.

So, if I'm reading this right, it's only available until Dec 19th and after that we won't be able to claim it on any other characters?

If I'm right, I don't think that will be the case with this one. From the sounds of it, it's going away at the end of Adrift. And there's a bit of irony since we can't access the quicksilver vendor in this expedition...

The Starborn Phoenix is free to claim on Steam right now, until 10:00 PT / 18:00 GMT on Dec 19th - even if you don’t own No Man’s Sky. You can then redeem your ship in-game from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion aboard the Space Anomaly.

The only thing that goes away on the 19th is the ability to "buy" the free DLC content on the storefront(s). Given you can pre-claim without even owning the game, there is ZERO indication this will be unclaimable in game after the 19th.

Did you claim it while the game was running? If so, exit and restart. It likely needs to refresh the account data. Which requires you to be online.

@Tryshard, I just tested it and confirmed, you cannot claim it a second time, even if you scrap it. The same as expedition and twitch reward ships.

Note I'm talking about on the same playthrough; you can claim it on all of your different saves (if you have multiples).

Same. I like to keep a few ship slots empty so I am actually going to scrap the Starborn runner on my main save when I bring this one into it.

Well luckily I had this C class shuttle hiding and I got rid of it. Good to know, I do not want to lose that ship. I have tried several times many different ways to get the new ship. I see the storefront dlc but when I click on it to add, it starts the game. When the game loads no ship. I will try a few other things, maybe a different save. It make no difference to me if every save has every free ship.

so I Clicked Add to account on the news page it launched NMS I load up my save go to the guy and no option 4... does this NOT apply to Canadians?

ok so my issue was solved CLOSE the game wait 10mins then relaunch & see if the option is there cause it was for me.

Also Jerk Move this thing is a "FREE SHIP" it still costs 1,600 Nanites so not free in game
