A planet with water life but no water?
So I have a planet without water but supposidly animals under water as it says while the planet is just very high hills and very deep canyons everywhere. Do planets have different biomes on itself now?

Planets might have oceans in some areas and mountains in another, yes.

Ok thanks, didn't expect that.

Going to be honest, there are some globes I've circumnavigated to find water and it just doesn't exist, yet the game insists there's aquatic life on them. I've had a player insist that there's water on every world except dead and lava, that frozen planets and barren planets and desert planets have ocean somewhere. In conclusion, unless that water is underground in the form of a subterranean lake, the critter index is telling you things that cannot happen. I think the procedural generator doesn't work in all cases, and the introduction of new biomes is a bad idea until the old ones are fixed first. Yes, we appear to be going with the Star Wars method of making planets consisting of only one biome, but that's easier than making Earth-like worlds where planets have all kinds of environments. If you can't find water animals on a planet that wouldn't ordinarily have water, just move on for your own sanity. Your time is too precious to waste on wild goose chases.

If one considers their time to be so precious, they should probably not spend it playing video games. As for me, I think my time is only as precious as the use I put it to in the moment. (but, hey...that's just my take).

That's a good point. I have found the water, didn't expect the planet to change like that especialls because before it was pretty simplistic. But now for the life of me I can't find the last animals. I read that alot of peope have problems and even going that far calling it a bug to not being able to find the last underwater animals. I am a person who completes what he starts but this makes me sick. I guess I won't finish planets anymore especially some with water animals. That this issue hasn't been fixes since launch is something I can't get behind.

I'm on a planet now with one half all water, most of the other half is one giant continent. The ocean side doesn't even have many islands which makes it a real pita playing the sub when there's often not even a small island to land on to get to spots I've scanned for in the sub.
