Expedition Rewards
I needed to upgrade my computer and transferred the NMS to the new computer. I thought I was safe, but my game saves disappeared and my expedition rewards disappeared with it.

How do I get them back?

If you weren't using Steam Cloud and it's not syncing, your only recourse is using NMSSE to add them to a new save.

Dont trust cloud saves, ever. They have history of being lost or corrupted.

The Expedition rewards are not saved in your save file. They keep them in a different folder because they are universal to all your saves. I had to search the discussion forum to find out where it was and copy it on to a thumb drive and move it over to my new rig a few months ago.

I hope you still have your old computer. I usually keep mine for about six months to a years just in case I have something that comes up rarely that I would not think to transfer over to a new rig.

My previous games were both in the Steam Cloud. That's why I don't know where they went to. I do have my old computer, I guess I need to find the folder with the rewards.

The file location for your save information is:
C:\Users\[PC NAME]\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS

The folder starting with 'ST' is the one you want to back up regularly.

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames\NMS\st_<your SteamID>
accountdata.hg is the account file with QS unlocks, titles, expedition rewards, etc. Best to just grab the whole st_folder, though.

Lol, doubt very much that they'll find that folder on their rig :steamhappy::steammocking: just sayin'

Bah, that's what I get replying on one screen while escorting a friend through the expedition on the other. Edited, thank you.

Go back to your on PC. Launch the game once in offline. Go online and save game. Exit game to let Steam sync your save to cloud.
If you havent enable Steam Cloud, do it.
Also, unlocked rewards in hg files must be matched with the XML files. HG makes cloud save at two locations for Expedition and Twitch rewards purpose.

I went into Reddit and they showed me how to get my rewards back including all the expeditions too. Now, they are charging 1400 nanites to get the Golden Vector. I guess I have to save up for it.

May I know where the folder is?

remember to grab both accountdata files... the mf_ ones are important, too... you have to have both for things to work properly...
