Fixing the teleporter
This has been an issue for a long time, and it just seems to be getting worse. Every time I teleport into a base I end up falling through the floor.

I tried raising the teleporter a floor higher than the base computer, thinking it had something to do with the base computer elevation, but that just dropped me farther. I put a floor below the teleporter, and still ended up on the ground below that floor.

The final straw was teleporting into my volcano base and ending up in the volcano!

You might ask why I would build a base over a volcano, and that's a valid question, but not the problem I'm trying to solve. :-)

I don't care where I end up, as long as it's predictable and I can make a path from there to my base and not have to make my way out from under the floor or climb out of the mouth of a volcano. Has anyone figured out what the problem is and how to at least work around it?

Since the 7GB Patch downloaded 15th February for my PC, for EVERY base which has a Base Teleporter set on a Floor piece above a Void- when I Teleport in by loading or moving within the Game- I spawn in the Void below and slide down any Terrain until hitting a Base Wall - or minimum head height. I believe this game version is 'Omega' I can not tell because there is no Version name or number displayed (or it's hidden)

I have never experienced this Glitch before that Patch.. my Steam files have been verified and my Graphic Card files are up to date.

I have since been re-engineering my bases to make sure the Teleports are with solid ground below them.. very annoying.

Putting a cuboid frame or a solid cube underneath seems used to help with this... It's yet another long-standing issue in this game that has never been fixed or even acknowledged. Though, I thought for a while it was better, but as I launched the game today after a break, I immediately fell through the floor in a base that this never happened at... So it's possible that Omega update made it worse again.

I have over 150 outposts identical to this scattered around the universe. The Cuboid Room Frame piece under the teleporter used to prevent falling through the floor. However, I've fallen through the floor of every outpost I've visited since the latest patch. :steamfacepalm:

I just had this today with my PermaDeath character; i teleported to a spacestation and the floor feel out under me and i died in outer space; character gone after multiple hours of very cautious gaming.... I entered a ticket of course but that does not solve the frustration...

The cuboid frame seems to work. I first end up in the frame, but then the game pops me up into the structure.

Unfortunately that doesn't integrate with the new building materials, but maybe there's something else that would work. I suspect the game sees the frame as solid, so it bumps you out of it.

I think it probably has to run all the way to ground now.

Chunks of floor on Anomaly are missing too:

Edit: I've just fell through the Anomaly floor out, into space...

There was a time (many years ago) when the teleporter worked properly, period. No need for additional suports or tricks. The problem now just keeps changing and reappearing....

Those were the good old days!

I don't remember having the issue until they released the new building materials, when they added settlements. Since then it seems to have been getting progressively worse.

It's a bug. Go ahead and send in bug reports for it.

I reported this as a bug to Hello Games on the first day of this starting to happen.. since then I've noticed an additional oddity which *may* be contributing to this issue. The Star Ships hit box appears to have trebled in size- If I try to place electrical cables near the Landing Pad I get a Star Ship is in the way message... not unusual- but the distance I now need to move the Ship away from the Landing pad, has increased by about three fold.

This - fall through the floor - bug has been around for ages. In the past it stopped me even starting the expedition where you were given a capitol ship to fly in, rather than the normal ones. I'd warp to the 1st star system, fall through the floor and die in space every single time. I'd also fall through the floor in space stations, the anomaly, bases and if the teleporter was just on the ground, I'd fall through the planet.

It did improve, but recently has been getting worse again. Right now I fall through the floor if the teleporter is inside round prefabs, like the current expedition wants you to build, wooden floors that are close to the ground (like two or less walls high) and the planet where I have just dumped a teleporter to get to a resource quickly.

The problem appears to be when the player is placed during the rendering sequence. It should be...

Terrain, base, animals, player

but is more like

Start a timer, render stuff, when timer runs out place player - whether or not everything has been rendered. And now the timer is way to short.

<edit>
OK when did they change the Zen desk so that you had to register to report a bug??!

This new update has made this "behaviour" constant: previously it was occasional. Every-time, without exception, I fall through the teleport room.

I just lost a pd save, 150hrs in, fighting monstrosities and sentinels then got hit by lightning. But if i'd fallen through a teleport i'd be very upset.

I think the general public is not noticing this because most people don't know you have to build above ground, as terrain regenerates. Everyone just plonks the bases down on flat ground.

Solution: Build on flat ground?

I had the same thing happen, then I built a foundation under my circular building and I stopped appearing underneath it
