It is a tricky road, where you think this is me, and someone points out the influences. Basic advice is don't plan for nothing. They will do exactly their plan, and our preferences are pretty minor in the whole creative process.
You gotta plan, maybe dreams can come crude...I mean rude, I mean....losiing eego, giop, blip.
I'd like ship names displayed publicly. The "bad name" argument makes no sense when you can see system an planet names publicly and they have a word filter and reporting system already in place.
I'd like a % reset of frigates. Feelsike 90% are C class. I've also found more S class than both A and B combined.
More work done on land fauna which still looks kinda goofy compared to flying and swimming fauna.
Fix the underground, abandoned building and metal part lighting issues. Fix the way you can see the ocean floor through an open door of a surface base, rather than the ocean surface, Fix the fact you now have to swim though underwater base rooms however they are made.
Fix the current vram leak that means folks with gpus with limited ram have to keep
re-starting the game. Fix the broken textures on various base parts such as the small stone wall, the large refiner, etc.
There are probably a load of other bugs but these are the ones that spring to mind right now. Each eroded my enjoyment of the game, with that vram one stopping me even trying to play the game. And yes I have reported them all.
I'd like to see them fix our Squadron so they deal real damage—and have their effectiveness scale as we level them up.
I'd like to see them fix NPCs ship so that they stop ramming into us.
I'd like to see them fix the Minotaur so it recognizes corrupted Sentinels as enemies and defends the player against them.
I'd like to see them fix Settlements, so that stats like morale or population numbers actually mean something—and give us the option to decide what the settlement will produce.
I'd like to see them fix the fauna—pets and wild animals alike. They're either zooming around at light speed or doing a slow-motion moonwalk, as if someone tied weights to their legs.
I’d honestly like to see more variety in Freighters. The current ones are getting very, very old.
And I’d really like to see enemy damage and health scale based on the region, not on the player's gear or ship class (S-class stuff).
Things like that don't seem they'd be hard to fix.
But they keep trucking with expeditions that also break things, so guess there's a backlog. Currently I can't see any of my wonders when I want to pick one. Have to back out and click a few times to see what they are then remember which etc. Just broken! Maybe never will be fixed now...
I'd like to be able to have my companion animals inside my house so if I go inside to not die they don't run off and then hate me
-I swear I had a pet revenge kill me once by saying it was depressed, then when I tried to follow it to feed it, it led me straight into an underwater abyssal horror eyeball guy before it headed straight back to the ship
My first companion was the predator that kept trying to kill me when I was building my first base. I thought making friends would solve the issue but no, there's another one now.
But there already is farming and cooking (and most of the farmable plants can be used as ingredients)
2. Cave overhaul, add more rare/semi rare resources and loot only found caves.
3. Point of Interest refresh. Many of the version 1.0 PoIs look dated and could use an update to bring them to the current standard. Add more proc-gen elements so they don't all look the same.
4. More proc-gen dungeons (maybe linked to caves). Some should be combat focused and others more puzzle oriented.
Agree with with the above.
Since day one, NMS has felt like there's been too much focus is on eye candy; and not enough on actual entertainment value. The things you cited would add entertainment value without harming the sandbox aspect of NMS.
So many other parts of the game could be elevated a bit as well.
A way to disable the automatic camera zooming when walking into a building or cave. As is, I enter a cave and my avatar takes up half the screen because the automatic zoom is way to close. Add mouse wheel zoom so I can control the zoom.
Option to center the camera for those of us who hate the over the shoulder/off to the side view. Preferably with sliders so we can adjust camera height and offset to our own preferences.
More camera range of motion in exocrafts. Try driving down the side of a mountain. The camera clips through the terrain making it impossible to see where you're going because the camera wont let you look down.
