That was my next question: if I stand on their burrow, do they kill me when they come out? No? Great! I've been afraid to get too close, but now I'll just go visit a burrow. :)
Thanks everyone!

It's a bit silly that they have no affect at all on a player, not even throwing up giant rocks that might land on a player and do damage, or leave giant holes players might fall into and have to tunnel out of.
By contrast the other extreme are those potentially aggressive jumping pineapple creatures or any angered creature, that can kill players.

I guess the vile spawn worm things (supposedly Titan worm spawn) and monstrosity bug things, that pop up out of the ground can be threatening (and look terrifying) but after the initial surprise they're very easy to walk past and avoid and they can not move from their positions, unlike the monstrosities.

The titan worms ought to cause some kind of damage if we unfortunately get close, more by accident than by design. Maybe we have to assume they are so big they don't consider anything a threat.
Haha. I think the sound design fits the terrifying size of the Titans really well especially at night and make up for a lack of actual meaningful interaction with players. Some of the Hello Games expedition planets infested with Titan worms are often great fun, like the fiery rendezvous planets from the 4th expedition 'Emergence'. The audio does create a foreboding atmosphere which adds to the animated titans as they crash into the ground. Would be nice to see a few trees or rocks perhaps land in front of escaping players with the sound of splintering wood and crumbling rocks.
Off topic: Would be nice to have crumbling rock sounds or metallic sounds for some of the new character cosmetics we get to put on and move about in. Sound often adds a lot to a game. Perhaps in procedural games it might be trickier to implement or balance.
Cool screenshots, thanks! I haven't encountered those pineapple things yet.
I agree that it would be more fun if there was an element of danger with the Titan worms. They are cool to look at, but it's unrealistic that they wouldn't be able to do any damage at all.
Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for the warning!
