To answer your "Anyone who was able to manage this?":
E - I left the default E for "Exit Ship".
L - Land Ship
[End] - Closest Target (along w Home and Insert for Next / Prev target).
That works great for me. Other's mileage is often different. :)
As you know you can Autopilot Target lock with S to hold or E to toggle, but if you press E to land it will toggle Target Lock instead. I have to defeat all the enemies (so there is no red arrows), and quickly spam E to land, then I can exit with E regardless if enemies are present or not. Otherwise E just doesnt do anything at all while enemies are present.
Its like it disables landing entirely when enemies are present and gives priority to target lock instead, even if I bind the "Target lock" or "Landing" to anything else (I tried R and Q)
This issue is not present if target lock is entirely disabled, I can fight manually or just E to land while being shot at and whatnot.
I just wanted to farm some Crystallized Hearts, but will dupe the fk out of them now and never look back xD
Thanks anyways.
- Enable Starship Combat Auto-Follow (toggle)
- Remap Combat Autopilot (Toggle) to something else than E (i.e to R)
- Engage in a planetary battle, press R to lock, works
- Press E to land while enemies are present (red arrows), nothing will happen, but should
- Defeat enemies and press E to land, you will land now when no red arrows are present
The question is whats the point of remap if it doesnt let you use the hotkey anyways.
Supposed to be R to lock/unlock, E for land.
I think E gets overwritten by remap but since it shares landing with lock, it STILL gives priority to lock, but since its not the key for it anymore it just doesnt do anything instead of doing what it says in the remap interface.
I can't land, I'm pretty sure, with my key set-up either, when under attack. Unless - I can often do it very quickly like before the first shots, like if there happens to be a landing pad right there.
But now I can't say I'm sure of it lol. In any case, in my head - it works that way on purpose. I guess I don't really know. That's been an assumption.
Logically thinking you're right, we shouldnt be able to land while being shot at at all. Then Im bugged and am not supposed to be able to land like that.
Well at least we need an error message saying something like "Cannot land during battle", instead of no feedback at all, it confusing lol, and then we can land while the timer is running until next wave arrives :D
Im so exhausted from this game's mysteries already xD
Thank you for your input!
I don't recall being able to land during planetary ship attacks. I just exited the game for awhile; but next time in I need to check my autopilot settings. I *think* it's set to where I have to hold down the key (because - that's what I do lol). Not sure if you think that would make a difference.
Hopefully someone knowledgeable will chime in. I was basically just answering that one part.
But now I'm curious..
I guess if you are so high up it will give you the "Too high up" or "Going to Fast" when you hit the land button.
There are points in flight combat where you can pulse away or presumably land if you were down on the deck of a planet. That sounded like the situation where clearing the red triangles had that effect. Between waves is when you get that option.
