And I keep my ingredients in a spare ship as ships can hold substantially more stuff that the ingredient storage does... so accessing that storage on the fly wouldn't help me much
some of the the more advanced recipes (still not that complex imo) make it possible to earn 11-36 million units per creature scanned (using nutrient ingestor)... that's well worth the wait imo...
I used to wait for S class ships to land at trade depots in pirate stations so I could scrap them for ship augmentations, but now I just buy upgrades instead... even including the cooking time, scanning all the fauna it's much less time consuming, and much more fun. than standing idle at a trade depot...

The skiff container is for fish, and the grill still requires you to actually summon the skiff itself... not the same as a cooking version of the personal refiner at all.
