What's your position on it?
Does it work well for you?
From the outside, I see that patches get published; and their patch notes document fixes and changes - many of which I see whinged about here in the forum.
So it seems, at a casual glance, that it works, at least, "well enough" for bugs to get reported and then patched.
What say you?
And...
The dangling question still dangles.
Does it work for you?
If not, why not?
It did take some time before I received a reply (about 2-3 months), but they did get back to me asking for a copy of my save files, and then fixed my issue.
For a such a small dev team I think that was pretty decent.
Also, worth noting that just because you haven't received a reply, that doesn't mean they didn't get your message. They only reply if they need further info from you to address the issue at hand.

Yep. The software works well.
Bugs I've encountered have got fixed overtime. Hello Games been helpful and understanding over the years. I don't use Zendesk that much, rarely at all, as Hello Games's support is very good, probably the best of almost any games developer.
Hello Games can take as long as they want as clearly they are as passionate about their games as the fans. The developers of Hogwarts Legacy and the Tomb Raider re-releases are also very reliable and have listened to their communities.
The big difference is every update Hello Games have released for No Man's Sky has been entirely free for years. It's like an evolving work of art by talented artists and perfectionists who you can rely on completely to fix the detail. And they do. : )
Since then, whenever it is appropriate I not only submit screenshots but I will include my save file(s). Since I have 3 full pages of Zendesk reports (30/pg = 90 reports), they (HG Devs) don't talk to me anymore.... ☹️
I use THIS link and I registered my email to allow me to login and easily update my tickets (for me it's way easier than replying thru email). Even though HG never updates the tickets; when I remember, I will often update the ticket with "Closed" or "Resolved" after a patch has been released.

Especially when you have to fill out forms, especially when you're not reporting a bug but just wanting to give feedback or suggestions.
I can (somewhat) understand the use of Zendesk for bug reports, because the forms you fill out make sure you give the relevant information they want and need to actually attempt to tackle the bug and it probably sorts and combines the bugs into an easier to understand format on their end.
However, for Feedback, asking us to use Zendesk is silly when we have a Feedback and Suggestions forum here on Steam Discussions. Why even have it there, if they can't have a dev check it once a day? It surely can't take that long to do so.
I don't want to fill out forms just to provide feedback, nor do I like trudging through 3rd party websites. Sorry, but I just don't. I play my games on Steam and I want to talk about it on Steam.
EDIT: Also, I think that using the same platform (Zendesk) that you use for bug reports to do Feedback is stupid, because all of the feedback will get mixed in with bug reports and that's more crap they gotta sort through, for every Tom Harry and Joe that wants PvP will send their stuff through Zendesk making more they gotta sift through, it's better to separate it by having feedback go through Steam. That, and when a suggestion is offered, they can see how other players react to said suggestion. If all you see as a dev is 500 people requesting more PvP, then you might get this erroneous idea that a significant # of players want more PvP. But, if you come here on Steam and see what happens when someone asks for PvP and how hard it gets shot down, you'll (correctly!) know that most players HATE it.
I would like to now have you think of this from the point of view of this small dev team. We've supplied a 10 year old game, to multiple platforms, each having their own issues. While steam is a good chunk of our small team resource, that is usually spent building a new game on the same engine, while giving updates to this old game.... we apologize for the inconveniences, that seem to repeat, over the years, in a forum, for one way to play this game.
(pov of the dev, not mine, I can just imagine.)
Everybody has access to Steam, even people who play the game on PS4/5/whatever. A Steam account is free, and if you want to provide feedback about the game, nothing stops a console user from signing up for a Steam account (which is, again, free) to post their suggestions here on Steam forums.
Fact is, doing so would even help increase the size of the online community, and connect players cross-platform.
They are already forced to go to Zendesk if they want to do that currently (or if they have bugs to report), so it's not like asking them to load a webpage is anything new.
