NMS won't launch on Steam Deck (fixed)
I haven't been able to play the relics update since the game just kicks me out after the loading screen. I have tried different proton layers, switched to experimental, and recently updated the steam deck; but the game still crashes. I'm asking if there is already a solution or if there is one in the works.

UPDATE:
I managed to launch the game by uninstalling and reinstalling. I haven’t tried this method first as I’ve read it didn’t work for others. Not sure what was the initial issue, but I’m now enjoying the relics update.

I can't be sure if this would work, but in your launch options, have you tried adding 'SteamDeck=1 %command%'? (without ')

Just tried "SteamDeck =1 %command%" and no luck, but thank you for the suggestion.

I am running a Linux desktop, and I have to use
gamemoderun %command%
in the launch options.

Not sure if that's a designation exclusively for desktop Linux but thought I'd throw that out there for you.

Launches just fine on mine. You shouldn't need any launch options. For Linux or Deck.
Launches fine on mine too

Unfortunately didn’t work either, but thank you

Out of curiosity what proton layer are you running?

On the Deck? Whatever it defaults to. I've never had to force a specific Proton with anything on the Deck.

On my Linux machines I usually force Experimental 99% of the time. I've had a few picky games, usually older ones, that have needed a specific old version, but it's rare.

Okay, I’m not sure what’s the issue on my end. I do use Proton GE which helped with the worlds pt 2 performance update. But thank you.

Have you modded the Deck in some way? Have you ever typed in any SUDO commands on it or used the Konsole?

Yes I have used konsole and downloaded decky loader. Good news though, I managed to launch the game by uninstalling and reinstalling.
